Thumbs up Washington DC/Arlington/Alexandria-area cobra club

Calling all Capitol area Cobra club members.....
I did a somewhat dispirited search in my post-pile to see where the posts were between me and one or two of you Capitol-area guys were. Looking in e-mail archives was hopeless, as my server "swallows" any mails older than 2 weeks--unless I save 'em on purpose. What I'm looking for is the kind gent (Tom? whover it was who actually lived on the Hill)) who offered to take me from the Hyatt Regency to a "grease-in" (?) breakfast at a local drive-in. If the offer's still up, I'll be at the Hyatt Regency from Monday 3 feb. through Sunday morning, 9 Feb. My cell # is (508) 662-3196. Really like to meet with some of you guys.
I will be involved in a (so-called) Junior State of America convention from Friday noon to Sunday morning 2/7-9/03. One of the things I'm doing is introducing the kids to doing video journalism. I intend to go to the various monuments, so the kids can do historic interest "info-spots". You betcha Arlington Cemetery is on the list! Teach 'em something while they learn video. From Feb 3-6th, however, I will have a fairly free hand for visiting, treeing liberals. sowing fear, etc.--anything useful for the Cause.

Anyone wanting to check in, e-mail me BEFORE Sunday 2 Feb. (projected launch). Or shoot me a call on the cell. I WANT to go to that breakfast!

Default Grease-up!

Hi Fred,

The grease-up!

Of course! The relevant one will be Saturday, Feb 8, 2003 at 8AM at the world (well, maybe Vienna, VA) famous Vienna Inn.

Alas, my Cobra is getting its EFI installed and it's comme-ci comme-ca as to whether it will be ready by then or not to impress the kids.

If it's still not ready I'll have other wheels and will be perfectly glad to fetch you and see if you can survive the exposure to this number of reprobates in one place at one time

I usually leave for Vienna around 7:10 AM and the festivities are normally over by a bit after 9, so you could be back at the hotel by ten-ish, if that suits your other obligations.

Just let me know!

Tom

Tom! It WAS you! I imagine we all have had similar "fun" looking for old posts or e-mails. In any case, thanks again for the invite! Don't worry a group of similar "reprobates" my be preferable to 1500 teens taking over the hotel! I will need your number. The Junior State shebang starts on Saddie morning and I'm trying to introduce about 40 kids to photojournalism and such. If I had a way to reach you then I could say "Yay" or "Nay"---according to how whelmed or even overwhelmed I am at that point. BUTT to ride in a 510 stroker? I'd shove half the kids over the balconey. I'd like you to come over anyway. The kids are going to be practicing interviews. So-o-oo-o-o it becomes, "MR. Wells, what made you choose a Cobra over a Corvette?" Then you'd have the opening to piss off _________ Corvette owners!

Keep in touch. I may need just to run away for an hour!
