Trigo 5 lug on a Contemporary?
I have a sick feeling I got the wrong wheels. Before I get the tires put on I thought I might ask..
The Trigo boxes I got have four boxes identifying it's content..
The boxes say: ERA
Contemporary
6 Pin
5 Lug
I see the adapters are universal allowing for 5 on 4.5 as well as 5 on 4.75, Ford.. Chevy/Jag... et al..
My boxes say 5 lug.. They are going on a Contemporary.. I called Lynn last week but haven't heard back from him. I will call him again tomarrow (Monday) But in the mean time.. Any Ideas?
Regards,

Yea.. low profile to the highest degree.. If I went that route I could run 26'es
I would test fit them but without being under load and close to the fender what's it tell you.. I can't find any reference to Trigo back space of offset variations anywhere..
The website refers to the off set being 3.5".. Nothing about backspacing or any differences between ERA and Contemporary wheels. It would seem like if there were a difference there would be an explanation, what for example do Unique owners do? What about Mid States.. SPF?? Searching the threads I see one member with an early CC that had problems and needed to narrow his track. I suspect that had to do with his track more than it did his wheels.
Is this why they come 7.5 and 9.5" rather than 8 and 10.. Maybe they are standard.. The wheels are drilled for both 4.5 and 4.75 patterns.. (10 holes)

Micheal, are you now running compomotives?
Despite the stupid comments, I am interested in how this comes out as i plan on doing the same thing this summer.
can you measure outside rim to rim on your current wheels and then mock-up your new set and compare?

I am running 3pc Compomotives now. The are 8 and 10".. Made in England (are the all?) nice wheels.. But I really want the knock off's
I suspect the Trigo are one size fits most.. There are tons of CC's using Trigo's with great results.. I am really hoping to do this once. The thing that makes me think this is pretty universal is when I ordered them Lynn didn't ask what they were going on, that, along with the limited information on the subject makes me think this is the case.. We will findo out tomarrow..

This will make your day.
When I got my Trigos a few years ago.I had to narrow the rear lower control arms and narrow the half shafts. And now I don't even use the Trigos anymore. Just bolt ons for track use.
Good luck,
Cranky

Yea.. that's the post I read.. What rear end were you running? Yours was the only post I could find that had that problem. My rear module is from a '68 e-type.

I'm in the process of installing Trigos on my car, they only come in one offset, 3.5 backspace, make sure you get the lineup ring it makes installing the wheels alot easier

Mike I have two sets of American Racing Outlaw II's with slicks mounted and the Trigos are resting in the basement. I don't recall the rear as it has been changed so much. Powerlock and Wilwood Brakes, 21/2" half shafts.

SCobraC,
It's my understanding that Contemporary uses a bit more backspacing in the front than an ERA. Put an adapter in a front wheel (loose is OK). Lay a straight-edge on the back of the wheel and measure down to the mounting surface of the adapter. An ERA will measure about 3.4", and I think the Contemporary will be about 3.7".

Thanks Bob, Thanks all. I went with the 235's up front just because for street use I can't imagine needing more front tire so 3/10ths up front won't make a difference.
I spoke to Lynn today and all the 5 lug wheels regardless of application are the same.. 3.5" offset.. ERA pin drive and Contemporary pin drive are different as are the original 6 pin.
