What did you do to pass the time...
Hey Folks,
I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of SP 1601 and it's dang near killing me. (Got a little less than 2 months to go.)
Over the past year or two while I have been saving and waiting, I have been prepping my mini Garage Mahal with reproduction automotive signs, posters banners etc. In addition I finished my "guy" room over the garage, complete with shelves to display my diecast car collection and finally, built a deck on the back of the house.
Just wondering what you guys did to help pass the time until you got your "roadster?" I'm running out of things to do...
John

Notice my post count on the left. That pretty much explains how I survived the wait.

Anchor2,
I ordered mine November 30th. it's supposed to ship at the end of this week..
Keith and Chaplin,
I visited here almost daily for almost 3 years now. (Doesn't seem to be as much actual Cobra talk as it used to be.)
I usually try to hit all the local car shows and track events at VIR. With icy weather forcasted for this weekend it may be a while before they start back up. Lately I've been spending my time at the local indoor carting track. A lot of fun but talk about a humbling experience. I used to think I was a good driver! Let's pray for nice weather soon!
Brian, Tried that remedy as well. (Your file size needs to be under 20k. If it's larger, try posting it in the gallery and creating a link.)

Is this what you're trying to do?
I'm more than a little concerned about the mannequin in the corner. Hmm... do the winters get that lonely?

I'm waiting as well--this has worked for me.
1. Get off this site.
2. Find an XXX site that you find suitable.
3. Get a grip.

Even more troubling than the mannequin itself is the fact that it has no arms.
On another topic, how does that inflatable bubble work? I saw one at a car show and couldn't decide if it was more of a gimmick or if it actually worked. If this is the same one I saw, it has a pump which keeps circulating the air so no dust collets on the car and it is supposed to prevent (reduce) moisture from collecting. Does it work??

I just gave up the wait, pulled out the checkbook, scribbled a bunch of numbers, and that roadster materialized in my garage. Instant gratification is usually (always?) a very good thing!

CHIPPER (AKA GARY - AKA SILK).
DOES THAT MANNEQUIN BRING ANY THOUGHTS TO MIND???
DO YOU NEED SOMEPLACE TO PROPERLY DISPLAY A "JANE OF THE JUNGLE" COSTUME ???
THE BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MANNEQUIN AND THE "GREASE-UP" WAITRESSES IS THAT THE MANNEQUIN CAN'T SWEAR AT US. WHERE CAN WE FIND ONE OF THOSE THINGS???
I AGREE WITH YOUR ANSWER - - WRITE A CHECK.
BUILD ONE ??? - - I'D LOVE TO BUT ON A GOOD DAY I CAN JUST BARELY GET MY ARTHRITIC OLD A$$ DOWN FAR ENOUGH TO CHECK THE TIRE PRESSURE.
Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY,
BLACKJACK

Keith ~ thanks.....thats exactly what I was trying to accomplish. In regards to the plastic b!tch, its really a long story that I shouldn't go into Our buddy Rodak wants me to take it to Vegas next week for the SCOF winter get-a-way trip......I keep asking him why but he won't tell me
Chaplin ~ the "Car Capsule" works great. I just put the car in it last weekend and it took all of about 5 minutes. Basically you unzip both side of the capsule, pull the clear/top portion to the front which exposes the floor of the capsule. Drive the car onto the bottom portion, pull the clear/top portion over the car (I left the car cover on for this step) and zip both sides. There is a small fan w/filter on the front of the capsule and once plugged in took about 5 minutes to inflate. After inflated, I unzipped it enough to crawl in and remove the car cover. I've been told by other end users that it does keep any moisture out and the majority of dust (if you keep the filter clean).
The capsule in the pic is 18 ft. and as you can see, plenty big. I purchased this one from a friend of mine after he sold his Prowler. I also have a 16' capsule still in the box that I purchased on Ebay before by buddy sold his car. It is possibly for sale if anyone is interested.

Brian,
Do you have a lot of little kids running around with sticky fingers that might be touching that car?
Reminds of the movie with a young John Travolta -- The Boy in the Bubble

JWheaton ~ nope.....no kids (at least none I know of). I figured it added a little more protection for storage during the winter months. Plus if I want to hang out in the garage with the plastic b!tch, or someone stops by and wants to see it (the car, not the girl) I don't have to pull the cover off.
Seemed like a good idea anyway.
