THAT AFTER A LONG DAY OF DRIVING AND SEEING THAT THERE WERE 56 VIEWS THAT SOME OF THE NAYSAYERS IN THE PREVIOUS THREADS MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN ON HERE AND SAID "SOMETHING".

I'll await the donation check to the folks at Make A Wish. If it is large enough (I believe they quoted a sum of $150,000 somewhere online), then I'll retract everything I ever said about the people running it. if not, then it was all just a scam to make money for themselves (you do the math)......Only time, and their check, will tell....

I may be one of those considered a naysayer. But first of alll, when you ask for credentials and you don't get them the smart thingfor me to do is back off. I also called the make a wish foundation and they sent that organization a letter asking them to remove the Make a Wish foundation from their site as they were not registered as a sponsor.
Now, all may be well and good for this group but I still maintain a
method of not getting invovled without proper validation and credentials. I still say I made the right call. I don't conduct business over a cell phone and just send out $7,500 because
they "sound honest".
I'm glad if it worked out for all concerned and I hope they all have a good time and get their monies worth. I do hope that the Make a Wish foundation benefits as well.

MR.MUSTANG
BILL, MY AGREEMENT WITH THE PLAYSRUN PEOPLE IS THAT I WILL BE INFORMED ON THE AMOUNT OF THE DONATION. I WILL POST IT IMMEDIATELY FOR ALL TO KNOW. AS OF NOW THERE ARE ONLY 33 CARS INVOLVED BUT MORE ARE JOINING US AT EACH STOP.
DON'T GET ME WRONG, WE HAD A LOT OF WORRIES BEFORE WE PROVED THIS UP AND STARTED OUT FOR LOS ANGELES. SO FAR EVERY THING THAT WE HAVE BEEN TOLD, HAS HAPPENED. IN MOST CASES, MORE THAN WE EXPECTED. TIME WILL TELL.

Jay,
No offense, but with the amount in question, I'll await an official notification from Make A Wish, as nothing I have ever gotten out of Marcus (or anyone else associated with this group) has been worth it's weight......Enjoy your adventure..........
Sincerely,
Bill S.

The most exellent adventure continues..
I postedd this last night on the Texas cobra club forum but felt that it also should be here..
Jay and Kieth asked me to post here and say HI ! to all of you as he won't be able to post tonight. He said that he would make a full report with photos sometime tomorrow. They were having a problem with the throw out bearing on the ZR1 and stopped at my home to use the lift. They commenced to tell me all about this Players Run. I must admit that it still sounded to good to be true. After the inspection on the vette it was decided to go ahead and drive it as the bearing was not in danger of going out but was making a little noise. It was decided to fix it after the run.
Before they left the house they invited me to come out and see for myself that this Run was legit. I was very hesitant but they call me again this morning and said to get my arse out there. So I grabbed my camera and headed over to the Bondurant school in the GT40.this is where all of the Players Run participates were to meet . This was one of their scheduled stops.
Upon my arrival I went and parked in the general pubics lot.
As I was exiting the car , Jay and several others were yelling at me to get that car over with all the others. Well, I figured it best to comply. I started to park in a open spot near a BMW and they said "NO, you park over there next to that F40 Ferrari. I backup and slipped in next to the beautiful red F40. As I was exiting the car Bob Bondurant walked over and met me. He asked if he could take the GT around the track. Of course I say sure! He then gets in and hits the track. after a few laps he really pours it on and they get him doing 112 in the small straight away. WOW!
As we are standing there Jay then introduces me to another fine Lemans winner , Roland Linder. What a neat guy. He was also on the Players Run staff. Most of these good folks are from Europe here on Holiday with their cars. They all were very nice and friendly. I also met Marcus Lexx. He is the one that started this event. I must say that he is a very friendly and courteous young man. He is from Germany and speaks english very well. He was everywhere making sure that everyone was enjoying the event .
After a while Bob and Roland was on the track. Bob was now in one of his Vettes. At this point several of the people asked that I drive my car on the track. I politely refused but they insisted so on with a borrowed helmet and off I went. I took off and found myself behind these two great drivers. A little intimadating to say the least. But here I was staying up real good for a few laps....then just when I thought this was kinda easy , both took off like they were driving jets. It was another one of those reminders as to why I don't do this for a living. But to say I was exited would be an under statement. I later pitted and gave a ride to several people with video cameras.
After the track event we all had a great lunch and Bob, along with Roland, talked of their careers in racing.
I must admit that these Players Run folks know how to have a good time. Eating humble pie has never been this much fun.
It's a pretty awsome thing to walk among a bunch of cars that cost as much as my house. Lambos, Beemers, Porches, and ferraris. I was in car heaven.
A great day for sure and I hated to see it end. There are a few pictures in my photo gallery.

My son Chris was priveleged to have in-car instruction from Roland Linder at Topeka a year ago, when we drove out for a Mile High Cobra event at the road course there. He is not only a fine driver, wonderful, patient instructor, but a just nice guy. Located some used barely worn Hoosier race radials for me, too.
Roland has an extradinary collection of race cars, including a Ferrari F-40 competition model for a daily driver. McClarens, Lolas, Spice cars, and the like. He won Le Mans twice in Porsche's.
I asked him if he ever drove the 917's in competition. He said no, they were driven by "the big boys."
If you win Le Mans two times, i suspect you too are one of the "big boys."
Roland and Chris keep in touch. He is Belgian, and a fine person.
