Default IRS toe in settings

I am interested to get an idea of what other conventional style designed Cobra owners, and occasional racers, use for the rear IRS Toe in/toe out, and Camber settings as a ball park figure to start with?

Also having said that if the upright isn't mounted properly it will toe in and toe out under hard use, if the bushing is inadequate!

One Cobra I owned ran 1/4" toe in on the rear but it had a locked 9" and wasn't a good street car.

The simple answer to your question is -

It depends.

On how rigid your bushings are.

On the proportion of your driving that is street/track

On the basic geometry of the suspension

On how much you value tire wear/life

On how much you value straight-line stability

------------------------------------------------------

Generally for the street you want to -

Maintain zero to a small amount of toe-in under normal driving conditions to increase bump stability and tire life..

For the track you want to -

Have a small to moderate amount of toe-in under cornering conditions with little regard to straight line conditions. This will increase cornering stability and force, and increase roll-understeer.

And that's the way it is.

When I was having a problem pushing through corners, I was told 1/8" Toe Out not in. It worked for me on the track and any other racer had the same conclusion. Toe out seems to give the lead in tire the edge to turn better that the lead tire working against the corner.

******Disregard..... I was talking front not rear..
