Value of orig. 289 lemans or sebring...Help
Hi, I'm new here and I hope you all can help me with your knowledge and expertise.
I have a young fellow working for me and his aunt supposedly has a few cars her late husband has from the past (he owned a dealership)
1- 1964 cobra street red with maybe 10,000 miles
1 - 1964 289 lemans or sebring with less than 75 miles (yes, never driven)
Now I have seen a picture of each and they are immaculate, he is going home this week to visit and is supposed to get more details and photos.
She is interested in selling but is very nervous about getting ripped off, I am only trying to help.
I need your input on value...her husband had mentioned years before he died of 350,00 + on the race version, I have no idea,
Please help
She also has a 63 fairlane 427 factory race version if anyone is looking.

jaeco...the best you can do is to get the serial numbers of both cars. (CSX numbers)
..that will determine precisely what they are.
ask your friend to supply you with them and post back here.
Until then...it would just be speculation.

???
The Club has had goose chases like this before. If you are really serious then send photo's. Upon verification, I will wire enough funds to make you happy. Cash is waiting. The rest is up to you.

Excited Yet?
I just checked the registry. The Sebring and LeMans cars are pretty well documented and none are presumed to be in Virginia.

We do have one thing in common. You now have the 1994 Jeff Burton rookie of the year car and I have the die cast 1/18th scale model of it. I bet mine cost a lot less than your's.

I was taught about money from my father.
He said; "Money is all relative"
--"You make a little money, then you give it to your relatives"!!
I had the 1/18 of the Comp Cobra, then look what happened. I rubbed it and it turned into the real thing.
--See what happens if you rub the Burton Car.....
You might get Gordon jealous.

Steve,
I am going on what little I know so far, I have seen a pic and I'll get fresh ones to you in about a week, I am speculating on the lemans/sebring by what I have been told......it was definitely not a street, it came as it is today with the slick race tires and white race trimed body...but this is all I know...My next mission is the numbers you all sugested...I'll have him get those on his visit.
Thanks for the quick reply

I am serious about the car/cars and can make the deal happen if they are what you say. You won't need to look further.

I know this'll probably turn into a multi-page marathon, and I just wanted to get in on the first page...
My guess is the Chassis number will say MGB 1600.

I'll post pictures....
...as soon as I get the digital pictures developed. Plus my Uncles brother's son has the VIN plate so I can't tell you the serial number. But, this was personally built by Carroll Shelby and Henry Ford II in Phil Remington's garage.
And it has TONS of horsepower. I installed every "add 20 horsepower to your 5.0" part to the engine so I now figure it develops 869 horsepower. On regular gas!
HONEST!
Rick
