Ford used black through 1965 and changed to blue in 1966.

from a thermal standpoint, you can't beat flat black. For the waxers, you can use the same paint you did on the body, but if you have iron heads and paint those, it may discolor around the exhaust ports.

A friend powder coated his whole engine white. Powder coat turns pink at those temps. He now has a Mary K car.

Thanks for the tip on powder coating an engine white. Boy am I going to have some fun. By the way, it really was a friend's engine and not your's, right !!!

Thanks for all the help, I am going with the Black, should look good with the Brass freeze plugs and Gold colored oil pan.

I saw a yellow engine one time...forgot what kind of car it was...looked pretty good. Kinda the same color as that "UGLY" Cobra on that thread...

I have a black block, and an oil leak. Oil leaks are eaiser to find on Ford blue.
Just a thought.
