Anybody ever try King Cobra beer?
Thinking anything with "Cobra" in the name can't be all that bad, I tried some the other day. And man, that has got to be the worst tasting beer (if you can call it beer) I ever had! I couldn't finish it it was so bad. I've tried and like most all beers, even malt liquer types, but not this. YUCK!
Any comments?
John

John, does this explain your avatar?
And , what did Hobbes think of the beer?

Back when I was in the fraternity, we used to drink a lot of malt liquor, King Cobra especially.
Let me tell you, it tastes bad. But, 2 bottles will get you effed up pretty good....It's like 6% alcohol or something, much more than regular beer.
I actually began puking blood after drinking too much once. My favorite malt liquor was the mint-flavored Cool Colt. It tasted like minty beer. Tone Loc was the spokesman. I don't know why it didn't catch on.

Wow,
That brings back some memories from the early 1990's.
Back in the day of $8.35/hours - no responsibility
GOD I miss those days.
To be 21 again.

John M,
Do you think it may be an "acquired taste"?

King Cobra Malt
When Peter Egan and I drove my 289 across the United States, we knew the trip wouldn't be complete until we had tried a bottle of King Cobra. It was in Arkansas, and I must say that the grocery clerk gave us a strange look as he watched us climb into the red Cobra with two frosty cold bottles in hand. Back at the mom 'n pop hotel, we washed down our Domino's Pizza with the yellow swill. I can't say that it was the worst barley-type beverage I've tried, but it ranks right down there with 7-Eleven Premium! Tom

It's not a beer, it's a malt liquor. Real beer (not the crappy yellow piss lagers that do lots of advertising) are 5-6% That is any pale ale, porter, stout, hefe, you name it. Then you can get India Pale Ales 6-7% or if you are so inclined, barleywine 11% or so. I love beer, member of "California Homebrew Association" There are so many world gold medal winning beers brewed in CA, it's good most of you don't know about them, their price would go up.

I have a bottle of King Cobra Malt Liquer proudly setting on a garage shelf next to my trophys. It was awarded to me for completing the Starlite 12 hour Rally in an open car in weather as cold as 19 degrees. I will never drink it, but, thanks for the warning!

F-W, post some pics of CSX2490! Heck, a thread with some pics and background on the car would be sweet!
