Lightbulb If I Only Comprehended What I Read!

Lew,

I skipped over the o in "w/o the big white letters." We're on the same page.

Ron,

What's up with the mag corrosion close ups? You must be thinking of selling your Kirkham at Barrett Jackson....you know the correct patina will bring the big bucks!

That's a good question. I looked thru a ton of early racing pictures and I can't find any large-lettered tires.

The one above on the FIA rim sure looks like the NASCAR safety tire that came out in 1966, but there really isn't enough of the tire to see for sure.

After looking thru the old pics.. it seems all I saw were small letter Blue Streaks.

...wish they made a repo of that tire.

On another note wasn't "Viking Blue" even up to the end of the Shelby Cobra line, known by and Delivered as "Princess Blue" by AC to Shelby?

Guessing "Princess Blue" wasn't macho enough to describe a paint color on a race car such as the Shelby Cobra

Viking Blue was a stock Ford color ( Paint Code E, PPG 12494 ) in 1963.

Ron
So AC's records for CSX #2107-2111 are wrong?or is just that the color was known by a different name in England.
