I'm 6'2" and, while I have the seat mounted low enough to look through the windshield, I do find value in the visors in their ability to deflect wind, as do the wind wings on my car (a WCC like yours).
BTW, I have my mirrors mounted on the windshield pillars, about 40% up from the base. I did find I had to fabricate spacers to mount them a bit wider in order to be able to open the wind wings. The driver side mirror is spaced further than the passenger side due different angles of the mirrors, but the difference is probably less than 1/4".
