Default Wind Wings-----useless!!!

Am I the only one that regards wind wings as useless?, I've tried it both ways with no noticeable difference in wind gusts. Although I did learned one thing the hard, if you happen to get to close to a large truck, it feels like a hurricane.

Actually - I notice quite a difference with mine off...I get a lot more wind in my face with them off. Especially at high speed.

Ditto. Although, let's face it, it ain't going to be tranquil no matter what, unless, of course, the motor dies.

I was told that they are "Stone Deflectors"! Was I misled? Any way, I like the looks of them on the car!

those damn convertibles!! Loud windy noisy beast. Very unrefined!

Get used to it

Most guys finally either give up on their favorite comb-overs or get a good hat.

I just installed both my wings and my visors. Hopefully they are a little functional. They do look nice on the window frame.

I find that I get a bit less wind turbulence especially on the side of my head with the wind wings set at the correct angle. These things aren't Lincoln Town Cars so get used to it.

Perry,

Maybe you haven't driven your car long enough to appreciate the windwings yet. There were a couple of occasions that a very strange thing happened to me. Driving around a mountain, a wind gust hit my car at an angle. The combination of my speed and the wind's speed caused it to have a LOT of pressure. It blew around the windshield and through my mouth and nose with so much force that it inflated my lungs. This was a bit shocking so I bought my wings from Butler racing. The auto inflate has not happened since. It just doen't pay to be grinning all the time, I guess!

My compliments on the beautiful job you did on your pedal assembly. Mine does not look nearly so nice and I spent two weeks building it. I did make mine adjustable though.

Question, what is a 'comb over' and what is a 'Camry'.

I LIKE that "wind in the face" feel....that's why all my cars are ragtops.

No wind wings for me...no visors, either... no excess weight...."if it won't make it go faster....it ain't got one".

regards,
Jeff

I had the same scenario as rallysnake. going down the interstate I would notice that the wind would come around the windshield an go right into my left nostral. It was dry my mouth out it was so bad. Havent had that problem since I put the windwings/rock deflectors/side mirror impairing/dust collecting/getting in the way things.

Question to you other guys, does the visor deflect a noticable amount of wind as well? Or are they used for Sunny situations?

Besides, the deflectors and, (to a lesser extent) the sun visors, they help define the actually "look" of the Cobra, just as the sidepipes, hoodscoop, stripes, and single roll bar also help define the "look". The visors help keep wind out of my face, as I am 6'3", and probably look like I am driving a toy car.

Edley,

Do the sun visors help keep rain off?

Mine looked like dog doo doo when I bought my car. I ordered a new set from a company in FLORIDA and they came in and were cracked all around the edges, it seemed to get worse as I put them on.. by the time I had driven around a few hours they were very cracked around the edges ( as if the plexi was defective) I e-mailed the company to let them know.. I never herd back.. I ended up taking them off. I rather like the look of the car without them now.. Yes.. while they were on they were pretty much useless.
