The P does not pertain to any of the engine codes.

Ok, lets start with the very basic:
A: The vin is for a 1972 Mustang, built in Dearborn, and is actually rated for a 2 dr coupe body style........
B: The rest of the VIN is full of baloney
C: Incorrect rollbar
D: Incorrect fuel door (actually a 1971-1973 Mach I pop off item not in production until the 1971 model year)
E: Small Block radiator in pictures
F: As a "Body in White", it would have still had a Ford related VIN as all Fords produced in the sixties was so equipped right off the assembly line.
G: Reproduction tag (not even a good one) stamped using wrong punches, and not uniform stampings at all.
H: No Shelby Gauge cluster
I: Incorrect seats
J: Lack of Shelby harnesses
K: "We do not own the vehicle being offered. Therefore, we are not responsible for misrepresentation of any kind." (Several Emails have gone unanswered)
Again, let the bidder/buyer beware.

the fifth digit in a Ford vin is the engine type and size.
P meant the 428 Police Interceptor/ 4bbl engine for 1966 to 1970.
According to Chiltons and the 1968 police car that I pulled
my 428 PI out of.
Cheers,
wicked fast

I like the drum brakes and the 120 mph speedo.
Didn't the performance cars (Shelbys) have 140 mph speedos?
If the car has only 4100 miles on it how come the upper ball joints have been replaced?
The original ball joints are riveted in and by looking at the photos
I can see bolts holding the ball joints in.
The engine does have cross bolts in the side of the block and it does have tunnel port heads and intake though.
The date plate is a joke and it held on with the wrong rivets.

S=390 4V
T=200 1V

Forgot one more little item...The speedometer only reads to 120mph, while the Shelby units were all 140mph....

He did say it was one of a kind, assembled by someone outside of "Ford". Theres a disclaimer that will probably "hold up in court". I think "assembled" by someone outside of Ford is the KEY to this car.
I "assembled" a Mustang once, out of various parts...............
I just didn't pass it off as a Shelby.
