As good as my secretary falling for this morning's radio station announcement that the Rolling Stones were giving a free concert here in town on June 20. She called and emailed the radio station to find out how much they were charging for parking ... only to learn, yup, April Fools!

This has been on CAV's web site for a couple days now. I know that his birthday is 1-11 and that they celebrated at Barrett-Jackson on January 24th.
Maybe after seeing the Cav sell at the auction for 118K he figured it was a good deal to get one for the factory price of 60K less engine-tranny. :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: Hersh:) |

Is this to combat Superformance? Why would Shel get their GT 40? Is the 427 made of glass in S. Africa to shift the production of the glass cars from Vegas? What's up? |

So SAI..
...licenses CAV to build cars in South Africa. Certainly would not be a shot at a certain manufacturer that builds some AC based roadsters in SA?
How long before SAI starts importing the fiberglass CSX cars from CAV at a considerable cost savings? I'm sure they will pass the savings along to the retail buyer! Polish SAI cars, South African SAI cars, prison SAI cars.....seems to me they will have the whole magilla covered! Rick |

They don't actually SAY they build CSX cars, but man do they ever leave you with the impression they do. It would appear that there is in fact a very strong connection between CAV and SAI.

man...and after all that talk over the last few years, and recent bold advertising in Kit Car about owning an "original". So the magic wand has been waived and replicas are blessed now... whatever.
Actually, IMHO it will be interesting to see what happens in this competetive industry over the next five years with Cobras. The plot thickens. Let's see, started as an AC English car, then formerly retrofitted in the USA, to now "possibly" being built in South Africa. SPF, Backdraft, SAI(?)...who's next to remain competetive? One thing is for sure, ERA is built and will continue to be built in the good ol' U.S. of A. Unique and FFR too for that matter... Get ready, the cooker-cutters are coming, the cookie-cutters are coming! Now the real competition begins to see who can crank out the most replicas of replicas. Hilarious! |

Seems to me according to the CAV website,they are now going to be making 427 S/C for SAI,delivery in May of 2003.....Very interesting to say the least.....It said they were continuing the CSX #'s if I read it correctly..... I know I'm just a dumb cajun from Louisiana,but that's what I read when looking at their site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! David |
