Clutch questions ????
No one tease me.
The Cobra is the first manual clutch that I have set up.
I am using the Lakewood scattershield behind my 428 FE.
Tremec TKO with the adapter plate.
Stock Ford clutch fork.
With everything assembled, will the fork move forward
or towards the rear of the car to disengage the clutch ??
Give me an answer after you stop laughing.
Just trying to figure out how to set up a slave cylinder.
Thanks and cheers,
wicked fast

If the pin that the clutch fork pivots on is on the driver's side of the engine, then movement of the outer end of the clutch fork arm towards the rear of the car clears the clutch.
And vice versa. And I have corrected for lhd!
Probably worth a second opinion though!

LMAO!!!!!!!!!
Give me a minute .....................
Sorry, just busting your ba!!s.
Sure this doesn't belong in Shop Talk
Seriously though. I wasn't laughing, just had to. You know how it is. Some thing might seem plainly obviously to one person it not to another. Like Einsteins Cosmic Constant was probably correct. Right guys
Pull towards the rear of the car on the lever to move the throw out forward and depress the clutch. Make it so the slave cylinder has a straight pull/push. Use a nice return sping (both peddle and clutch fork would be nice). Nothing to heavy is required. A stop on the peddle is a good idea especially if the master cylinder is of larger diameter than the slave cylinder. You don't want to 'over stroke' the slave cylinder. Be sure to 'dial in' the bell housing. Lakewood can provide you with all the information on that one.
And don't forget my favorite, put the tranny fluid in!
Going to have it done for DVSF?

Me to!
He Kelly that is a perfect example of what I meant by it may seem obvious to one person but not another. I still have no clue what "JENECQA" means!
Let the laughter begin

Bill,
Wilf has it right ,but i'll explain it in English, your throw-out bearing will move toward the pressure plate(front of car) as you depress clutch pedal to disengage clutch. Since the clutch fork is a "pivot " type ,your slave cylinder will need to move the outboard end rearward. This can be done with a hydraulic push slave or sometimes a pull slave cylinder. good luck!

stuff
He!! bring it in primer! Just as much fun to drive. I think there was at least one in primer last year. In certain circles that black primer look is very cool. Of course I don't think moons would look right
I am sure there will be many people willing to give you a ride if not.
The JENECQA was finally explained by Wayne. I had no clue
Why in the world would any one in there right mind have the clutch on the right side of the trans
Feudal system is over! ... or is it

Bill - forget the paint job, run it in primer/gelcoat for a season - gets it on the road that much quicker and lets the body settle before paint. Was what I did, and I enjoyed that year of cobradriving - car looked like $hit, but I never once worried about stone chips!!
Jenecqa = Gashole interpretation of the French (sorry) "Je Ne Sais Quoi" - or "I know not what".
Jamo's familiar name (and registration?) for his Butler.
