I don't get it? 3056 was 1992, and 3178 was 1960's?

Default Snakeeyes

I remember when I brought my 780 LeMans bowl carb to my engine builder before the dyno session. I had it well packed in a beautiful carburetor box. He carefully opened it and when he feasted his eyes on that beautiful completely new looking carb he said;
That's just gorgeous.
Take it home or put it in a museum.
I'm not puttting that restrictive piece of $HIT on a race motor.
Just sell it with the car when you sell it but tell the new owner never to use it.

Quick explanation-
The 1965 production was supposed to be 100 Comp cars...they screwed up and didn't get it done. They built 51 cars and 2 loose chassis-onlys, numbered CSX3001 thru CSX3053.

CSX3054 and 3055 went for development, both RH drive...one ended up the Super Coupe.
CSX3063 went to Ghia and was built as a show car.

...and that was that for the First Coil-car production run.

Mid 1965, they commenced the Street Car run and started numbering at CSX3101, and ran to the end, CSX3360.

The UNUSED numbers in the CSX30xx sequence became the premise for the "completion" cars, twenty some-odd years later. CSX3056 was the completion car prototype.

I have one just like it and, dammit, I'm going to use it!

I guess I'll just have to putt-putt around with that antique, eh?

Default Carb

It will do for street use. If you don't have the correct weight spring for the secondaries, you will find out when you floor it in 2nd gear and find yourself facing a different direction on a road you can't remember how you got to. They can be a handfull.
