15:1 FR rack vs. stock power rack w/Heidts valve?
I'm hoping to pull my 18:1 Flaming River rack out of my car, as it is just too damn slow for my purposes. I can't decide what to replace it with.
Originally, my car had the stock power rack set up w/no Heidts valve. Great for autox, but far too twitchy with that much boost.
I use my car for street cruising. But I am also an avid autox'er and will run at least 3 high speed open track events this year. I'm torn between getting the 15:1 Flaming River rack and getting a power rack from a donor and putting a Heidts valve on it. The Heidts would give me flexibility to use for street and race, but I don't know if it will give me the same "feel" as a pure manual rack. On the other hand, I'm afraid the 15:1 FR will be too twitchy on the highway and real hard to steer on the street.
Who has done both racks and which do you prefer, again keeping in mind I really want the best for my racing set up (after all, if I was just street driving, I'd keep the 18:1, as it is a fantastic street cruiser rack).

No, it ain't "real", but it's real fast....
Some people choose to rattle their windows with stereos and speakers... I choose to rattle windows with my right foot.
