Default Knotts...I was a little disappointed

I made my first ever trip to the Knotts show today. I was looking forward to this for the last year. I must say I was a little disappointed. There were fewer cars than I expected. Mostly small blocks...I don't recall seeing an FE at all. There were a few 460 blocks and House of Cobras had a beautiful 427 Aluminum motor on an engine stand. I saw some Superformance, MidStates, Shell Valley, BackDraft cars. ALOT of FFRs. I didn't see any ERAs...which I was really hoping for since I'm on the waiting list for one. I guess I built this show up bigger in my mind than it actually was. Oh well...a bad day looking at Cobras is better than a good day working

I did not get to go this year. From what pic's I have seen the turn out was light. Possibly the threat of rain kept many away.
I could not attend as my wife recently had surgery. She wanted to drive her Rodster there this year. I look forward to the drive from here in Sunny Phoenix.

In the past 2 years I saw only 1 or 2 ERAs there. As stated alot of the crowd is FFR.

Joe, how about that nice, red Contemporary with the tunnel-port in it?

This show is certainly dominated by Factory Five cars. Some good, some bad. You're right about the motors, mostly stock EFI 5.0 small blocks . Even so, there were at least a half a dozen FE's in the mix .

Better yet, did you take a close look at the GT-40's. Now there's some nice work!

Bill,
I didn't see you there...I was kinda rushed because I had my pregnant wife with me. Oh well. If ERA moves me up on their list I'd be happy to represent next year !

I hung around for about 1 hour. Really wasn't what I had hoped either. I expected to see at least a couple ERA cars! Really bummed! I'll also bring my car next year if I can get it finished in time!

Sorry Karl,

FAV made at least 1, and I believe more, GT40 roadsters. At one point in time one had a 7 litre 485 horse big block in it!

i dont know they they never advertise this show! if they did ANY advertising locally, there would be a lot more cars there.

sunday also conflicted with the pomona swap meet, which attracts thousands of people. a lot of them would go to knotts if they just knew about the show.

Default Big Block at Knotts'

Here's a red Contemporary with a big block tunnel port in it. Bill likes his engine so much, rummor has it he uses the polished alunimum hood pannel for a shaving mirror.

Question DISAPPOINTED??

Joe A,

I read your initial post and was both dismayed and troubled by your experience at Knotts' 2003. After reviewing my digital photos, your comments have become abundantly clear.

Note: The hood scoop ventilates the trunk. That's all I'll say.
