Default side meatball

What's the deal with the side meatballs?
Do they go on the door or behind the fender vents?

I see member phots of both and can't figure out which
is the correct placement.

Thanks for any input.

Todd,

There is no 'correct' place. I have mine on the fender and some others are on the door. If you are still having problems let me know and I'll decide where you can put them.

Roscoe

Isn't the placement in the ERA manual?

Pirate...so what your saying is either Bob P or Roscoe will determine the "correct" position? Au contraire, you must follow my "lead" on where to put them. LOL

I had the same delimna, and not just with the meat balls, but also the decals. I looked at many pics of the placement on other cars and came up with "my" interpretation as being "correct" for me.

Check out my gallery. How did I do? I never was "sure" I had it right. I went for the door on the static cling "meatball".

I was actually thinking of placing the meatball off center & at an angle on the trunk lid like on some of the GT40s. I think it is cool to do something different but at the same time trying to stay within the era...

Todd,
I've placed them on the door and the front fender depending on size. You can get a bigger # on the fender and when I switched from my 2 digit football number to the 3 digit (004) serial # of my ERA, I went the front fender route. If you sift through my gallery you can see both placements.

Talking I agree........

there is no correct placement. Put them where you want them. I've got mine mounted just in front of the doors and on the hood and trunk lid. Check my gallery and you will see how they look. Static cling is the only way to go.

You know I liked the way the GT-40 did some of that off center stuff. I tried that on the Cobra, but it just didn't work for me.

So I was thinking,,,,,what if the stripe was off center on a Cobra? I've never seen one done that way.

I was thinking about doing those graphics to. I guess if your after originality, look at old pics of originals, or just suit your taste to whatever floats your boat.
