Default My new Kwiklift on the way

Just ordered a Kwiklift from a place in Oklahoma and it's on the way.... Can't wait to stop jacking the car up one corner at a time..
Plus,, I can go out and sleep under the car while pretending I'm doing something.... Cool!!!!!!!!!

Casaleenie,

Must be nice to be able to lay under your car without worrying about an earthquake. I spend as little time under there as possible!

Edley,

Oh Yea!!!!! I called them back and had them add the creeper to the shipment.... Kwiklift will be going to a show in Carlisle Pa. this week (swap meet) and passing through Columbus, Oh on Rt. 70. They offered to throw mine on the display van along with another one to be dropped off at the same place... Very accommodating and saved me some money....

Are you having them set it up? I have a Superior 4 poster and was really happy that I spent the extra couple of bucks to have them do the install.
You'll absolutely enjoy the lift....just remember to put the end plates on after you remove the ramps. Did you get the aluminum or steel ramps?

Dan,

Go the the Kwiklift site and check it out... It's just elevated floor ramps but gets the car off the ground about 20". Nothing complicated about the assembly... I'm betting yours is a much more intricate lift... mine is just ramps on stilts...

Dan,

Look at the test picture I posted in the CC Lounge and you can see my car on mine. I got one of the first set they sold and they gave me a break on them and I love them. They are 21" high and with the car setting on them I can set up under it. Also the width can be changed easily for any width car.

Al,

A word of caution. The powder coating is very slick if your tires are the least bit damp. I went to the hardware store and got two strips of that stuff they use on boats that you stick down and it has a rough surface and it works great. I normally back onto mine and I just put the strips in the middle of each ramp for about five feet. After watching them trying to put a Super Bee on a set at the car show last year I asked them why they didn't do that and the woman said that sounded great and they went right down and got some of it. The woman that was doing the display for them told me that once they had the car slide off as the tires were wet and they started to spin. I also got the bridge that goes across them. Did you ?

Ron,

thanks for the info... I got the bridge with the package along with a creeper and chocks and approach wedges... also, Danny included a pair of approach wedges for use when the lift is lying flat on the floor...
I'll take your advice about the non-skid strips... Maybe I'll head to the bed and bath store for some non-skid tub flowers you find on the tub bottom.... Add a little color to the mix....

Had some good weather today and should last into tomorrow..
Driving every chance I get...

regards, and have a great holiday,
al

Al,

Are your wheel chocks the plastic kind like they sent me ? If so, then you will have to modify them too. I glued a piece of rubber on the bottom of mine and now they hold like mad. But that plastic bottom on the powder coated ramp was like a skate on ice. I got one of the first sets of ramps they sold right after they started the business so I would guess they have made some great improvements over the years. Mine are 14' 9" in length.

Take care, and have fun. Raining like all get out here right now.
