Hmmm, 98" Wheelbase, full fiberglass 'tub' construction. May as well get a Vette with what this thing is gonna weigh.
That combined with the company's past troubles and the remarks given here about the new product?? Fly, if I were you and was wanting an all-weather car I'd look into a FFR Coupe, or at least a regular roadster with a hard top from one of the more respected manufacturers.

Street Beast Cobra Coupe
Yo Mike,
Thanks for your thoughts.....
I was never really interested in a Cobra roadster.....and
what with all the whining I hear from many of my fellow
club members about the wind, rain, cold and on and on....
mind you this is in the summer! the coupe was the right
car at the right time at the right price. Plus as I alluded to
in an earlier post, the one piece body and much of the
assembly completed made it very attractive to me. I
used to be part owner in a body shop that did Corvettes
only. I rapidly learned that my blonde hair, blue eyes and
fair skin was not conducive to playing with s-glass, e-glass
and assorted composite materials and resins. This was
reinforced in the mid-late 80's when I was a Composite
Materials Engineer with MRB authority at Northrop
Advanced Projects on some very 'interesting' aerospace
vehicles. Shortly after starting there, the allergies came
home with a passion to the point that I quit and went to
Douglas Aircraft on the DC/KC-10/MD-11.
Sorry for the digression, as one of the early purchasers,
they cut $5K off the price and are doing the pre-assembly
work package at n/c which is usually 12-1500.
I'm hoping to take delivery in the next 60-90 days and
have made some prelim arrangements to make it a
roller as I'm still 'space' challenged.
I'll probably be flying down there again in the 4-6 weeks
as I still have some unused United passes that expire
in April. I'll re-post after I return as I expect my 'kit'
will be close to shipping out.

Hi TButtrick!
It sure looks obvious that someone has drawn that top onto a photo of a roadster! Howard

Howard,
Yikes! Guess I got to wake up early to sneak something by you.
I did this graffiti to a pic of my own car shortly after seeing Street Beasts coupe almost eight months ago. I like the look but I think SB screwed up by messin with the lights and scoop, etc. This thing was supposed to be deliverable in July 03. But wait, hold on... "Advance Orders will Receive Special Introductory Discounts!"
Like Roscoe said.."RUN AWAY"... fast!
It would be nice if someone offered a similar shape to a Le Mans type removable hardtop.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that Street Beasts was already advertising photos of the coupe as far back as April '02 at trade shows. If it is taking that long to just put a hard top on their roadster, imagine how long it would take for them to fix any early production problems!
Buttrick;
Man,...I thought that photo was real.

Buttrick,
Now if you ever get that top perfected where it clears the roll bars and fits nice and clean with no rattles, leaks, and roll up windows, you will have it made. At least it will be different than what anyone else has for now.

Fibertech in eastern PA is close to releasing pics of a prototype LeMans top for the FFR which should look similar to this. They will offer a "trunk kit" to modify the trunk.

Todd,
That looks extremely nice! I assume that's to fit an FFR? Would probably spring for the $$ if it fit my car, but Unique's have a "lower butt," so I doubt it would fit.

Yeah, they have custom fitted a couple, but they don't offer it, and in fact don't recommend it.....said it was a pain in the a** to fit right. I saw a picture of one they did fit, and it didn't look as nice as the pic you posted.

Try www.v8cobra.com. It's on the banner in the picture. It's a display in the UK apparently, and the website is for a company that builds DAX replicas. I've requested information about the hardtop in the picture. Maybe one of our UK members can tell us more about it?
