Re Street Beasts Cobra Coupe
Has anyone seen one of the Street Beasts New Cobra Coupes ? I looked at the pictures in my June Mustang Ford trader magazine and the pictures don't show it to well. It actually looks like a roadster front end, a fastback rear end and the sides look a little odd around the wheel wells. But that could be just the picture angles.

I'm not sure if it's a real car. Kind of looks like some fancy computer work. I don't know how they can get a roll up window to fit in the door. I think I like the concept.

Do a quick search of the company in general, they have changed their name more times than I have sold my Shelbys and Cobras (meaning an awful lot)....Let the buyer or the potential buyer beware of this company..........

They have a bad history. They scammed people in the 80s before they were shut down by the attorney general - Many undelivered cars/parts. Their solution-change names and move to another location.
I think they were Classic Motor Carriages back then.

They have been run under several different names over the years and yes they have ripped off hundreds of people. What I find interesting is that I see quite a few of their street rods for sale. They must be delivering something. I don't know about any of the other cars they sell but given the history I would steer clear.

I have one. Rather then order extra parts from them I have gone to local Race Teams for Coilovers and ordered extra Parts from Shell Valley. The doors and rest of the body fit very well. Have had no problems with the car. My wife purchased car for me so it was a turn key. Did change rear suspension but only took $400.00 in parts. I have 4 coil overs, steel braided lines, Team III wheels, chrome roll bar, chrome nudge bar, wing windows and visors. All for under $25,000. After getting the car I realized no one else likes them or everyone is afraid of them. I sure have had a lot of fun with it and the people at Shell Valley have been great with getting the extras for me. I do like the car. It is not the fastback that you had been asking about. So I do apologize if I have wasted anyones time.

FST HSKR I don't think anyone has bad feelings about the car, it's just the company history. It's your car and if you like it that's all that matters. You surely are not wasting anyones time. I hope the company is shipping cars and parts. We sure don't need another bad one. I think you're the first person to respond that has received a Cobra from Street Beasts. Bottom line: drive your car and enjoy it! It sounds nice the way you set it up. How about a picture?

Thanks Don,
Will have to have someone help me with the picture. Should have one the first of the week. Great web site and I have seen many of your threads and do respect your knowledge of the industry. Thanks,

Coupe power windows
D. Scott,
Short of making the body wider for additional interior room, if one adds door width for power windows, one better be very skinny indeed!
PS: Did Geno approach you about building turnkey engines for us? Next years production run will be around 45 cars, expanding to around 150 in 2006. Is this something you can handle?
Call me sometime.

Street Beast Cobra Coupe
This is a little late to your April q; however, I'm one of the first 20 to order this past January. Visited the factory in early August and it was looking very good. Their cad images dont do it justice. They've been very responsive to my questions and suggested design changes, i.e. frenched license plate but I really raised a ***** with the 'vette style tail lights to the point they're offering it with conventional Cobra tailights ILO the vette style. Was advised that they might have to go to a three stack tailight setup due to potential squawk from one or two states and their lighting requirements. Spoke with them last week and was told that the website will be updated again with lots of new stuff in the next couple of weeks. Still trying to figure out the fuel filler, heard it might be on/in? the right rear fender. I suggested a center rear deck panel similar to 63-67 vette coupe and I saw the sketches but guess they didnt go for it....I may change it on mine if I dont like their new concept, whatever it is....also I'm adding a third brake light just above the forward edge of the rear window from '99up Toy Celica GT. You wont even see it excpet when it's on....my car will be medium to dark grey metallic
I'm hoping to take delivery on mine in Jan/Feb time frame. They're still working the details on getting the windows to go down fully into the doors. I'm pretty pumped about the design.....Val
PS they've been very responsiv eto me..any questions, pls email me at: fly4val AT yahoo DOT com.

Buyer beware!
I have personally built the "FibreFad, Classic Motor Carriages, now StreetBeasts aka Innoavtive Stree Machines.
Let me be rather blunt, as this is the truth, and the whole truth. I told everyone in our shop if they so much as took in one of the above cars to finish, do a turnkey, or even work on they would be fired immediately!
I am very serious about this. Frames where welded as much as 1 & 3/4"s off. Doors that if you could get to fit at the bottom you could stick your arm in, up to your elbow at the top.
However,.....I have not built one of their "new & improved" kits.
And, we haven't begun to go into the "ripping the customer off" scenario of yesterday.
DV... If sanyone wants us to build one of the "New & Improved" Streetbeast today, we'll do it! Labor rate will start at $25K and if they are new and improved we'll go down from there.

I was exhibiting as a vendor at a recent "Good-Guys" rod and custom show at Del Mar and had Street Beasts located in the booth right next to me.
Having seen just about every replica kit available in person in the last few years, I spent a few moments eye-balling the Street-Beasts Cobra that was being shown as well as one of the "Cabriolet roadsters". I looked them over very closely because I had heard all the rumors from the past.
Without getting myself into a situation where a lawsuit might be pending, let me just say that it would be best to keep doing your homework and make sure that this is the best that you can afford.

Street Beast Cobra Coupe
Also go under 'NEWS' heading where it shows
the first coupe body after pull from the mold and
the other shots which show the ugly taillights, IMO.
I'm looking forward to driving mine four seasons
with air and heat.....now all I have to do is find
a place to assemble it....oh heavy sigh....V
