Default Time 4 a dumb question:

what would happen if the distributor was installed 1 tooth off?

what would happen if the timing chain was installed 1 tooth off?

anyone ever have a problem with an MSD 6AL?

Two different animals...

One tooth off on the distributor can be made up by just turning the distributor (timing) to make up the differnce (providing there is room to turn it).

One tooth off on the timing chain changes the index between the crank and cam...

Others can probably give you a better description (than me) of how to tell if the timing chain is a tooth off.

Does you question mean you have a problem? If so, what is it doing?
