Don't see anything about admitting making a mistake, but maybe that's on the other forum. Anyway, he may well have made one, which can be said about most of the rest of us here at one time or the other. I've made a few. I nearly went off a mountain road twenty years ago when some guy goaded me into a "let's see who gets to the end of the two lane (one passing) back to the one lane first" race. I'd signaled, overtook him and was starting to pass when he floored it. Did I mention it was raining and the roads were very slick? I should've slowed and let the clown have his accident with someone else. But no. I stepped on it. I drifted part way across into the other lane of traffic, and the rear end was coming around. Due entirely to luck, I caught it and survived. If I'd lost it I would've gone off the cliff. Or, I could've caused a head-on collision with an oncoming car, injuring or outright killing someone who's only sin had been driving up the same mountain road and being in the path of an irresponsible jerk, me. Nuke, I'm glad you're okay, and hope you don't have to go through something like this again. Hang in there.

Let me put it straight, I was not the one to "try and show off for the crowd by frying the tires at 25 mph". Nor was I the one to say that you alone are the problem, and placing blame on just you for the increase or difficulty of Cobra owners getting insurance coverage. However, I do point a finger at you for think about the damn car first, and not the pedestrians and fellow car owners around you at the time of your excessive speed and acceleration demonstration. Whitewash it all you like, what you personally did was to act irresponsible, to set a poor example for those around you. Why, because your ego got in the way. Even now, your ego is talking here, and not the rational side of your brain.........Don't bother to respond, all I ask is that you think about what I posted both now and earlier, and dwell on it from my point of view........Especially after reading your original posting on the other forum.......

Thanks to any and all who have made the attempt to give advice. I have received some very informative emails from guys who understand the insurance business and I really appreciate their advice. Thanks again.

Bryan, glad you are OK and I hope you and your insurance company work things out. Opinions are similar to a$$hole$ around here: Everyone has an a$$hole and every a$$hole has an opinion.

I'm so glad my stupidity did not hurt anyone! I don't care if any one ever gives me a dime for my car, I'm just glad everyone is ok.

Default Roscoe! Settle yo'self down!

You should expect full value from your insurance company - Especially since it is Allstate......"you are in good hands"....these things are worth what we put into them....otherwise we would not do it. Stand by the value of your car and have pride in what you have built. You paid your insurance premium. Noboyd wrecks their treasure on purpose. You deserve to have it fixed or replaced.

Roscoe! Shame on you. The guy had an accident. Doesn't mean it won't happen to you tommorrow. Maybe your foot twitches at the wrong time, or maybe it is the other guy. But you have NO BUSINESS LECTURING our fellow member here and making any presumption about whether his driving was innappropriate since you have NO KNOWLEDGE of the circumstances.

Lighten up or Lift Off.

Jahred, I don't care anymore about full value from my insurance, come and get the wreck for free, you know why, because all I care about are the pedestrians and other drivers that didn't get hurt. How can I possibly think about my car at a time like this?

You still missed my point, which was a simple one. You thought of the car first, and everyone else second. Your own safety was in peril as well, yet you fail to even notice it before your ego caused the damage to your car, and your body. Yes, thankfully nobody got hurt this time. But, what if someone had, what if it was your own family that was with you, would you have chosen the same course of action in the first place. Only you can sit down and truly think about these questions................Nobody else can do it for you...........

Well Bill, it's over, it happened and all is well with any and everyone involved. That is NOT the subject. Get off the soapbox and go hug someone if it makes you feel better, I think you need it.

Default Mr. Mustang

OK, I have not read the post on the "other board". So I could be wrong.

But I am going to go out on a ledge and suggest that you are a ****ing prick.

They guy had an "Accident". There is a reason they call them that.

If he did something irresponsible, it is not evident from your posts or from his.

Your accusations ARE irresponsible.

By the time he posted, I am quite certain that he knew that there were or weren't related pedestrian casualties, or whether any such pedestrians were at risk.

Give it a rest. He had an accident with a car which is prone to same. Perhaps if you think this is such a bad thing you should not own one of these sinful autos. He had an accident. No one was injured. He made a legitimtate inquiry regarding insurance matters and you have no right or cause to lecture, at least none that you have made clear in your posts.

God Bless.

Unhappy Re: Mr. Mustang

Jahred,

No accusations, just more from before nuke editted his post on the other forum. Am I a prick, not likely...Am I someone who is not afraid to speak his mind in hopes of preventing anyone else from mak,ing the same mistakes in judgement, yup, you bet.........The life I save could be my own, or someone else that I know. I speak from experience, I've seen far too many folks with the same attitude end up either in the hospital, or the morgue. if one person reading what I have said stops and thinks twice about doing something foolish, or beyond their capapilities, then I feel it was a worthy post............Either you get it, or you don't.....................

Thumbs down Nobody got hurt due to sheer dumb luck.

One mistake, actually thinking that you gave a damn about anyone but yourself. Look at the big picture, think how many younger generation people read this forum and think that it will never happen to them. From one parent to another, all I ask is that you take a step back and think about it before you respond again.

You are portraying yourself as some sort of saint. Maybe you should change your name to MRRIGHT. Again, you have no idea how I have felt about this. Anyway, do you have any advice on this insurance thing or not?
