Default Lesson to be learned from recent crash. Who wants to autox in Philly region?

Alright,
As far as I am concerned, enough is enough. We've beaten Nukes' thread to death. The lesson to be learned from it all, at least in my opinion, is that every Cobra owner should have experience and practice handling these bullets at the limits. Open track is an option, which I really enjoy, but it can get costly. Why not autox?? I am an avid autox'er and enjoy the hell out of it. It's cheap, safe, legal, sanctioned by the SCCA, and you will learn more about handling your Cobra (or any other car) than you can imagine. Plus it gives you an outlet to beat up on your car and not risk destroying it or killing someone. Autox has very minimal risk. You will get to push the car to its' very limits and beyond, learn what it will do and how to react to it.

Last year, using Team Jenny as a charity, the Philly region of the SCCA held their Holbert Memorial autox in October. We drew about 13 Cobras (170 cars overall) and had a blast. Many Cobra drivers were first timers and they raved about how much fun they had. Many plan to come back this year. Jim Schenk from Factory Five even came down with the FFR "test mule" roadster and putting a hurting on us all.

Let's do it again this year. In light of recent events, who is up for it? It's no big deal to put together, the events are already set, and I show up anyway, so I'll just invite everyone, and maybe we can chose an event to all come to. The best lot we run on is in Camden, NJ., but we won't have use of it until after the minor league baseball season is over. So, if we want to wait until October, we can run at the Holbert Memorial Charity event (though Team Jenny won't be the charity, as we rotate every year).

We have two other tracks. Boeing (the airplane maker), but their lot is small and bumpy. That leaves Nazareth Motor Speedway, the same place where the Busch series and IRL run. We run on their infield paddock area. Why not come out there and race? We have four dates I'm looking at as possiblities.
Sunday August 10th
Saturday August 30th
Sunday August 31st
Sunday September 28th

I'll probably be at all of them, or at least 3 (I hope). Do we want to chose one and all meet up and create our own seperate Cobra class?

Steve

No, it ain't "real", but it's real fast....

Some people choose to rattle their windows with stereos and speakers... I choose to rattle windows with my right foot.
