Paul/RallySnake: We can also find where TonguePirate hangs out, and drive up and down his street! We can probably bring him to tears, 'cause his Cobra aint done yet!

Bart thanks, yes 11.5 @119 mph is fast enough for me these days.

Richard thanks, I believe that I will save some of my money I have
put aside for the engine for a better chasis set up and go to driving
school. Thanks again, Jim.

Edley,

That sounds like a good plan, although with all my kids activities, it will take some scheduling. Maybe I can get you involved with some of our rallies where you can have some REAL fun with your beast!

Mr Fixit (or Mr. Punster),

Good one!

Paul

Paul, I would like to do a rally with you; we had little rallys in high school, follow the clue-type directions. Lotta fun!

Edley,

June 6, 6:30 PM. Please join Ron (My co-driver and navigator) and myself at Millie's restaurant at the North East corner of the intersection of Sepulveda and Devonshire. I love their pot roast! (My wife is a nurse and I do NOT get this at home!)

We sign up for the rally behind the Bank of America (next door) and the first car is out at 8:01 PM. This is a Santa Monica Sports Car Club TSD Rally and lots of fun (as long as you don't take winning trophies too seriously). It's a short (2 hour) event, perfect drive time for a Cobra.

Everyone is welcome and I'll tell you about the REALLY fun rally coming up on June 21!

Paul

Edley,

Yes, it would be fun to tease Tongue Pirate! Honestly though, people are sooooo busy around here, it's very hard to organize anything. I have to plan everything weeks in advance. Odds are, we would miss him!

I have often "buzzed" my friends home in the evening, only to find out later that they weren't home.

Oh well, I got the neighbors!

Paul

Sorry I just came in on the end of this. I have wanted a Cobra since 1976 when I saw Gumball Rally in the movies. Over the years I have put the Cobra on a sort of pedestal. It was the be all end all car ever made. Porsche Turbo's and Z06's be damned. The last really "bad" car I had was a mid 11 sec Mustang that I did drive on the street everyday. This car was 3200 lbs wet with a dyno verified 400 hp. That comes out to be 8 lbs. per HP. Put that same motor in a 2500 lb Cobra and it comes out to be a bit over 6lbs. per. Now I know how that car ran and felt and in my minds eye it is not what a Cobra should be. It should be loud, smelly, loud, rough, and loud. I need to do at least a mid 10 quarter with this thing and it should also stop and turn almost like a slot car. If it gets poor milage or has no bottom end, so what. That is why God made lower gear ratios.

Default Mine has about 5 lbs per HP..

And it's just about right. In fact it's only about as fast as my Yamaha V-Max street bike in the quarter mile (in theory, since the cobra is new and I will not run her hard yet at the drags to find out) This sort of performance is what these cars are about.. just be careful on the street!

Default HUDGINS' MARKETING DISSERTATION

Richard,

As always, you continue to show an uncanny insight into the mind. When you write your marketing dissertation and get to number 6 on your list:

"6. Attract People who supersize everything. (If even this is in their imagination and not their wives opinion.)"

Here's something for your foot notes:

From Knott's 2003 ( and you went to the Long Beach Grand Prix instead). It's my guess that the dual roll bars are a mandatory option if you select the "BigGulp" holder. The owner's wife was nowhere to be found.

Cool It does look a bit wierd..

And I admit the full rollbar on my west coast also is not the "prettiest" rollbar ever.. but after the recent famous rollover accident, not many people are laughing about big rollbars or race cages.....

big rollbars aren't necessarily safer. Some rollbars are simply decorative, and could easily be just mounted to the fiberglass body of the car.

Your pal,
Meat.

Talking C'MON! LOOK AT THE PHOTO!

BinB (Sir Steven) & meat,

I'm making fun of the supersized drink holder in that FFR, not the dual roll bars.

Talking Sir Steven, Wake Up!

BinB,

It's that kind of close attention that lets you pilot an overpowered replica and motorcycle so swiftly and safely!

Your right, but today the average vehicle has 200 horse pwer and is faster yet heavier... there are over a dozen every day non extics that have 450+ hp...what about the 1000hp streetable RICERS! BAhh those punks lol

and hell my grandpa in his old age raced his cars, raced the 1971 E Type jaguar v-12 out of 60 people or so and took 3rd and 6th...as an old old man he was wooping all those younger guys! Hell i just watched a video i downloded of some guy on a motor cycle.. guy did a wheelie at 60 mph and held it till over 130.... and went over 200mph the acceleration was like a jet... as u can see for the camer is on the speedo the entire time crazy!

Anyway, I dont feel bad for wanted a 500pony small block and do 10's in the 1/4 mile! But overall your right
