Menace - So by that logic just because an FFR is "well built and has all the goodies" it should be worth the same as an SPF, ERA, KMP or Shelby...Eeeeeeyeah riiiiight. Can I get your dealer's number, I want whatever your smokin'...
Oh yeah, almost forgot - I turned a nice late model Fiero into a Testarossa and used really really good parts and all - I'll let you have it for the bargin basement price of $120,000.

Argo!.. so what you are telling me is that a FFR cannot in no way be build as nice as a SPF. I really need to hear you say it.. I need 100% conformation that you are a certified nut.....

According to the explanation - the bidder meant to enter $20k top bid, but accidentally entered an extra 0 - for a potential top bid of $200k. Now, what's odd, is eBay should "auto-bid" for you higher than the next highest bid, up to your specified maximum - in other words...someone else must have bid with a cap approaching $70k - so this still is not adding up - unless a second bid retraction comes through.
At $19k it seems a nice buy, but the reserve hasn't been met yet....stay tuned - a wild ride for the seller I'm sure...

Having owned not one, but two FFR's, and now owning a non FFR (sort of kind of still related, but that is a whole other story), I can tell you that there is a difference in the quality of each build, and each kit. Fit and finish, quality of workmanship, and attention to detail all play a factor in each kit car built. be it a proffesionally built car, or something built on a shoe-string budget, and no garage......................

Its all about intrinsic value .
Ive seen many many FFRS that kick ass on some ERA/ Unique builds and Vice versa
A 70K FFR probably not ... but what makes your 38K ERA or whatever brand worth anymore than a well built 2nd generation big block IRS FFR with all the goodies?......beside a built in price premium that was paid for say a Unique kit for the name ?
Ranting aside I really love "All" Cobra replicas no brands withstanding .

It got my attention.
No one here was attacking FFR, just the price it seems to getting on EBAy.
No reason to come in and start bashing anything other than an FFR simply because they made improvements. I doubt it that they improved them enough to be fetching $70,000.
Like you said they are all replicas of sorts, but they are NOT $hit Boxes.
Having said that, most of us in here don't think that there is such a thing as a $70,000 FFR no more than there is such a thing as $100,000 SPF or a $105,000 ERA.
Relax and enjoy the scepticsm of the price the car is getting. The dollar amount is raising eyebrows, not that it is an FFR.
Considering how soft the market is, I am sure many in here are wondering HOW in the world this could happen. You should too!
In this market you can buy a real nice car for $70,000. I mean a REAL nice car.

It won't. Sometimes the tone of what we are trying to say is lost in how we write it.
I think Menace was being defensive and felt that some in here were putting FFRs down in general becaue of the type of questions posed. I am sure the questions most of us were asking were answered with the price modification on the listed car on EBAy..
We love ALL Cobras, don't we guys?

Menace,,,,,would the first name be Dennis? ........such irrational comments are really starting to PISS ME OFF!
...and another thing,,,,
It surprises me that ANYONE could even SUGGEST the FFR in question could even REMOTELY be considered in the same ball park of $70K! You couldn't get $70K for an FFR if it had a 427 S.O., IRS, halibrand wheels and SHELBY himself built it! Get real, never happen!
The one on -e-bay has a 460, a live axle, and bolt on wheels!!! When you start asking $50K and up for a Cobra, it BETTER be "correct" to SOME degree!!!
Personally I'd buy an FFR to go racing. They can be done "inexpensively", easy to maintain and easy to get parts for, light weight and a dam good track car. For the value received, there a good buy.
Where the heck did I put my pills....my blood pressure is through the friggin roof.
Ernie

RACERAL,
OK, you asked me where you could get a car like the one on this thread for $25K...and you would buy it. Well, the car awaits you!
Must have been an error. Check out the new price. She's all yours!
