Jason,

L4-L5/L5-S1 for me as well. But I ain't got the story to go with it. You are on an abdominal, etc. strength and flexibility program, yes? It helps.

I think we THOROUGHLY hijacked this thread!!! We should start a "Hockey-themed" thread in the Lounge, and let this thread die its natural death!

Excaliber 05-20-2003 04:57 PM

Oh yeah,,,,,hijacked big time! Now where were we?

I'd buy a spec racer BUT I want to drive it to the track and back home!

Oh I got other stories. There is a reason why I have a skull hanging down from my rearview mirror. I figure if I keep death close I can keep an eye on him.

Nearly drowned twice when I was younger, once in a pool and the other the ocean, nearly hit head on by another car due to a dare when I was a kid, almost fell off a 300 hundred foot cliff in Sedona and barley hanging on with my hands when I was a kid (rock climbing), while charging a hill during live fire, a fellow member of my squad nearly shot my head off in the Marine Corps (nothing like hearing that zipping noise go by your ear. Never have the guy who only qualified marksman cover you!), nearly broad sided by a semi doing 65 mph when I hit black ice and started spinning and crossed over, never trust the "safety" on a weapon, nearly blew my jewels off when I laid the rifle down. The reason why I laid it down was because a round had just jammed and exploded partially in the chamber. I had to pick the small pieces of metal out of my hand.

HOOOOOWWWEVER since being married when I was 27, things have seemed to gotten better. I can't understand why my friends think I am bad luck????

Obviously some were due to my judgement as a youth and some just being at the wrong place at the wrong time, but then again it is how you look at it. I was at the right place at the right time because I walked away. A few inches here and a few minutes later or sooner I would be dead in each of those situations. Somebody up above either enjoys the entertainment or wants to keep me around for a little longer.

I will let you know if I can think of anymore things that happened when I was younger. I know one thing and that is if there is a thunder storm, I don’t stick around to see what kind of odds I have for lightning to strike me

How can you say such a thing!!!!!!! A thousand lashed from 100 virgins!

The answer is:

Doesn't matter because you can pick two more up at the next corner!

Super-Snake 05-20-2003 05:55 PM

Just wanted to get the thread back on track for those watching at home.

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming.

Jason Lee Nye 05-20-2003 05:59 PM

Well since we are on the topic of fake and real.

Does it really matter if they are fake or real?

The FFR is fake but it is perky

The Shelby Cobra is real but it isn't quite as perky as the fake ones.

I say fake is better but don't complain if they are real.

Now another question is how many here first thought of the cars vs who first thought of the females in them?

*** I knew I forgot something. When I was in the service I was coming home on leave for Thanksgiving. About halfway through the flight, the plane dives suddenly and we come out of our seats. This was no air pocket so the captain comes on and tells us that we have some hydraulic problems and would be updating us in the future. I have no clue what he meant by hydraulics and he sounded pretty calm so it must be ok. About 10 minutes out to landing he comes back on and explains what is wrong. We have no rudder and that when he lands (which will be hard) he will have to steer the plane with the brakes which means we are losing our stopping capabilities while he is trying to get the plane straight on the runway. He informed us that there will be fire trucks to our right and left. He said we might run out of runway. He then said we will have to assume the crash position. About then (and I will never forget her) a fat lady in this God awful green dress starts screaming, “We are going to die ect…” We hit hot and the plane shot to the left and right and at one point we were almost sideways and I could almost see down the runway through my window. Screw the crash position if I am going to die I want to see it coming. I kept thinking the legs on the plane were going to snap at any second. I could see the fire trucks coming up then like a flash they were behind us. The terminals flew by quickly then they were gone out of sight. We were screaming down the runway and he finally got the plane straight and jammed the brakes at the same time. We finally came to a stop and had to wait for the fire crew to make sure we were not going to explode I guess and a tow dolly came out and swung us around and pulled us back to the gate. As he swung us the wing went over the fence……it was a matter of feet before going through the fence and losing complete control. No one clapped and you could hear a pin drop all the way back to the gate. The pilot was awesome and I never got a chance to thank him. I have to have a few drinks when I fly now. I used to love taking off and landing, no anymore.

I WILL finish my Spec Racer, regardless if the car falls on me or crushes me!

There is a reason why I picked #13 as my lucky number. You know I turned 13 on Friday the 13th and my name happens to be Jason. Come to think of it, I had a very small turn out for my birthday. You get to the point where if something goes wrong, it will with me. I have yet to have a decent vacation. I never took a vacation so one year me and the wife decide to take one in California and do the whole Universal Studio, Knotts Berry Farm, Disney ect.. Well the first day we go to Universal Studio. Before I continue I want to point out that year that California had that big forest fire and a portion of California had lost its power. So here we are in Universal Studio and the power in that portion of the state goes out. Not the end of the world but it only took 2 hours to get out. We were at the bottom of the long escalators that went to the Jurassic Park ride. Can’t remember for sure what ride we were waiting to ride. I never realized how many people visit Universal Studios on an given day. After we got out of Universal Studios it was just a hoot trying to drive through Hollywood ect with no street lights and California traffic. Since the weekend was pretty much screwed up from this big fire, we left and came home.

After several years we decided to plan another big vacation and go to Vermont and New York City. We get there and in less than 12 hours I get a call from my mother, my father passed away. I have never been treated so rudely by the airlines over proving my father had passed away and trying to get our tickets changed so we could get home in time to bury him.

We are planning on going on a cruise this year, I can’t wait to see what will happen. I will swear on a Bible as to the events that I have told. I $hit you not.

Not sure if you been over there, but check out the Spec Racer board at the FFCobra site. You could get real feed back on these cars. Also you can ask Gordon Levy, he also builds Factory 5's and Roaring 40's (GT-40).

I think Gordon has the fastest top speed time in a Cobra replica. I can't remember the exact time but I know it is over 170 mph on the straight at PIR. He has to hire a person to carry around his cahonies.

Gordon has been at 185. Too fast for me.
