Actually the pipes come in handy for cauterizing the quick jack wounds as they happen. Think of the quick jacks as "fangs" on the cobra. Those suckers do hang out bigtime as Herschel said.

I am still wondering about what is correct in mounting them nuts showing to the outside or to the inside??? Whats the convention on the originals??

Jamo,

An educated man like yourself should have figured it out by now. Especially a legal eagle like yourself.

Obviously you were "stressed"out about possible fluid leaks and had to "repeatedly" check under the car. This action caused you to "injure" yourself by no fault of your own.

You now have the basis for a "Repetative Stress Injury" suit and are due compensation. You might want to have some discussions with the builder about this.

You must of hit your head pretty hard to have missed that one.

Well ya see...

I forgot to safety wire the damn oil pan drain plug when I had the car on the lift, so I figured--big deal, oughtta be able to reach that little sumb!tch without lifting the damn car--just wiggle my a$$ a little along the concrete.

Well now, ya see, I'm a little new to this safety wiring thing--got my handy dandy new safety wire plier from ol Tommy the K and thought, how tough can this be?

After a few spools of safety wire, I think I got the process wired! Course, every time I came up for a breather, or more wire, there were them dam* quick lift thingies reminding me to never forget to do it while it's on the lift ever again! Now that freeking plug ain't going nowhere!

Or your steering or your drive shaft or your shifter or your sparkplugs or your cat...

and you were trying to slide under your car?

Tom told me I should set the ride height in the front to 4.5" and 5.25" in the rear. Now please tell me what he told you to set yours at?

I was at the track one day. adjusting the rear suspension on a customer's car when some gentleman starts asking a bunch of questions. I slide out from under the car to answer his questions and doing a sit-up I stopped all forward momentum of my torso when my right front tooth smacked the quickjack with a loud "PING"
I only did that once, after that, I always hold onto the quickjack when sliding out from under the cars. Know where they are.
