Whatya doin' in '04?
Hi,
I am starting to tighten down the schedule on my trip through the US next year in my GD Cobra ( www.gdcars.com). I should be shipping it from Ireland to NY in mid May and spend 45 days travelling through all 48 states before ending up back in NY before the trip back to Dublin.
I am keen to make as many shows/meets as possible during the trip. I know this is pretty far in advance but can anyone that organizes a regular meet drop me a note of the schedule so I can pencil it in and use it to help plot the exact route? I WILL be hitting all lower 48 states and Alaska is under consideration however Hawaii is out as my GPS is stuck in a loop still trying to plot a route from San Francisco that doesn’t include water!!!
The trip will be about 20,000+ miles in total but is for a great cause ( www.driveforce.org) raising funds for cancer research and The Kidney Foundation. Anyone that would like to drop a line please feel free. I would love to think we may have multiple Cobras in convoy for some of the miles!
I will keep all posted as I countdown to DriveForce 2004!
Thanks,
Paul

Get out the hot lights for Roscoe
His group, Club Cranky, does all sorts of track events if you want to do that. So make him talk!
Rick
PS, the Vintage GP at Mid-Ohio is usually the same week end as DVSF and very close by.

Ohio in mid June, sounds great! I hope to be leaving NY on May 29th and so should be on the way back from the west by then.
Club Cranky?! Cranky as in 'ill-tempered and moody'?!

You got it!
That is why it is Club Cranky!
But don't let the name fool you, it more of assumed persona. Now the Gasholes, that is a different story
What is it that you want to see on your trip?

Mark,
Thanks, Kansas City is absolutely on my path!
I will email you later this weekend.
I am hoping to start to get a skeleton schedule together by the end of the summer. Once this is done I will start to finalize the exact route/dates etc.
I have to fit this in with other publicity events happening but I hope to make the 'Cobra related' and 'Irish related' events the major happenings.
This is all for a VERY good cause so the more publicity the better.
We now have a national (albeit Ireland!) radio station looking to get daily diary reports throughout the journey also. THis can only be good for the replica Cobra industry as a whole!

Hi Paul,
We have a pretty active group in the Washington DC metro area:
Capital Area Cobra Club
Sounds like a great excuse, er, reason to get together - we meet every Saturday at 8AM at the Vienna Inn - you'd be welcome I'm sure!
Cruising happens at the drop of a hat, and nowadays whenever it stops raining - we've just had 25 straight days of rain - can you say mold (or is that mould)?
Log onto the web site and see if your schedule allows.
Tom

oil changes
Hi Paul,
We have a shop in Kansas City and you would be more than welcome to stop by for a free oil change on your way through.
If you are close (200 miles is close in this part of the world) and need any help give a call.
I'm sure there are many shops who will welcome you and help with whatever you might be in need of!!
The Best of Luck,
