Default buying spf from Doug Reed

Hi my fello Cobra mates,
I'm thinking of buying a SPF from Doug Reed in Louisiana. As i'm living in europe i wont be able to make the distance to see the car's. Has any one had contact and anything positive to say? I'm just a little optimistic as i like to have the "kick the tyre" and inspect attitude, than just over a phone deal. Many thanks.

i have known Doug for about 3+ years, and he is a hoot to be around. He always comes up to our track events, although it is usually early afternoon before he manages to change out of his PJ's!!

He builds fine, fast cars, and is meticulous in his attention to detail on his SPF's. He is a man of his word, and a pretty accomplished driver in his own right. I am glad to have him as a good friend, and can assure you that he will more than meet whatever expectations you have of him and his cars.

I have never seen Doug when he does not have a great big smile on his face.

No worries for you,

all the best,

Hi skippy

I know very good how do you feel. I have bought a used SPF from Dynamic in Ohio. All I had were 3 pictures and the word of Dean Rosen that the car is in good shape.

When I opened the container at the port in Switzerlad I really had a strange feeling in my stomach. But every thing was ok.
After 3000 miles with SPF 665 I am really happy with the car and I would do it again.

Good look with your deal and sorry for my bad english mais mon francais n'est pas vraiment mieux.

Greetings from Switzerland

Hanspeter

I know Doug Reed and have raced with him at several venues. He builds an exceptional SPF Cobra and he will stand behind his work. His cars are beautiful and well built. Doug is a good man to do business with.

Would you rent me that car next time I'm in Switzerland. I thought about bringing my own for my next vacation but its a hassle. Last year I saw a bunch of model T's from the USA traveling around. It was neat!

i have known doug for a few years now. i met him at a track event and continue to see him there. i would never doubt his integrity or honesty. he builds a quality product and when i see him he's often testing and tuning a customer car before he delivers it. great guy and yes, a great smile all the time.

I contacted Doug by phone when I was shopping for my SPF. I found one privately for sale that was originally purchased from his dealership and I called him to get some feedback. I walked away from the car in question because the private seller was less than fortcoming with some information. Doug is probably one of the most honest and square dealing folks in the business. Have no worries on this guy. And I did meet him recently, he is a rip!

I have known Doug for about 10 years, and would not hestitate to do business with him. I know him to be a fair and reasonable person, and honest and forthright. I think Doug would be the first to tell you he does not build Cobras, but rather he is a Superformance dealer for factory built cars. I don't think, as of a couple of years ago that Superformance dealers are allowed to install engines due to regulations regarding importations or something. However, with Doug, he is knowledgeable about installing engines and what works and what doesn't work with SPF cars, and has gone to great lengths in the past to make his customers happy.

I have *not* known doug all that long, or that much... but it doesn;t take long to figure out what you see is what you get. Honest... to the point... no nonsense and no frilly talk. If it's on his mind, you'll hear it. And when you are making a considerable investment in a car, that's exactly the person you want on the other side of the counter.

I'd trust Doug with my life, and since I had the chance to go competition Go-carting with him, I beleive I just have. And I'm still alive (sore, but alive). lol.

Doug's a good guy, and does good business. And I'm glad to know him.

Thumbs up Good Choice !!!

skippy,

I own a Superformance. I met Doug Reed briefly, and know quite a few guys who bought their SPF's through his dealership. He comes highly recommended.

Since Doug also races SPF cars, he speaks from extensive personal experience. You can rely on his knowledge and enthusiasm to select the perfect car for your needs.

Honesty, integrity, and customer dedication are Doug's hallmarks. And many of his customers think of him as a friend and all-around nice guy, not just a car dealer. That speaks volumes.

You made a wise choice.

Tom

I'm on my 4th car upgrade with Doug since 98. Cobras and the SPF S1. Don't forget Ronnie, the other intergial part of the group. Being from Europe, I'm sure you know about royality. Every King must have the court, that actually gets things done. Well, Ronnie is the "court". The team is exceptional to work with. Will bust their a** to accomidate. And beleive me, I am a pain to work with. I ask for all the non standard stuff (I'm not a purist). And they always deliver. Attention to detail is fantastic. Should not worry about it being "right". If Doug and Ronnie sold Edsels (our equivilent to the worst auto sold in EU), I'd consider buying one due to their support.

Are you from here or there. I get to your part of the world ferquently. My wife is there now. Send me your email address and I will try and look you up next visit.

Skippy - Doug and Ronnie are great people to deal with. The service they provided me before and after my purchase have exceeded my expectations. They both were quick to offer their cell phone numbers in the event I had any questions during my install. Well, I had plenty and they were quick to answer every one. I've known them almost 2 years now and would recommend them to anyone.
They can also whip up some great cajun cuisine if you're ever down in New Orleans!

Enjoy your SPF.

Talking A word of caution...

...whatever Doug and Ronnie say about me, "Flyin_Freddie", is a pure, bald- faced lie...no doubt about it!!! Make them furnish pictures before you beleive any of it....irrefutable proof of whatever they say.

DO NOT go drinking with them....without a supply of Diet Coke and Bicardi Citron....

Default Yes to Doug Reed

I know Doug Reed, and I would recommend him without question. I have never heard anything but good things about him, and my dealings with him have been without issue.

He races Superformance cars and sells them. He has always had great hospitality, even though I bought my car from another dealer (Dynamic) as I am not in Doug's "neck of the woods".

By the way, he is not a bad guy to go drinking with either...

Eric
