Thumbs up ERA 650 Almost Ready

Well, I went up to ERA yesterday to check out my car and all I can say is WOW. Richie, Doug and the rest of the guys in the shop have done a great job. Looks like next weekend it will be coming home. Here are a couple of pictures. But, the pictures really don't do it justice.

Thanks Pat. And remember, you are to blame for this. But I don't think there's going to be much to blame you for- except that big a$$ smile on my face

That car is in the delivery slot in the garage at ERA.

That means they have taken it around the block a few times to test it out.

Also to see if my initals will show up at 75 mph? !!

I want a ride!!!!

JW
It is in the delivery slot, but I can assure you they didn't take it on any test drives- not unless Doug and Richie could convince Peter to push it around the block real fast (no motor). If you want a ride, come over next weekend and you can sit in it and I'll push you up and down my driveway, but you have to make your own vroom vroom sounds Hopefully in a couple weeks it should be running, but then I have to wait for DMV paperwork to get finished so I can drive it.

Thats just beautiful, good luck with her and safe driving. Its a fact that owning a ERA is just as exciting after 20 years of owning one and if taken care of will look and run as good as the first day you drove it.

Take care
Ron Randall ERA 148

PS
4 more years and I will own a Classic Replica by law

Chaplin,

Looks great! I hope you get it home soon. What did you do for a motor?

Best of luck,

Chaplin,

I htought you were having them install the motor?

Must have been someone else motor I saw the day I was up at ERA.

I will email you as soon as you get it home to make a ride reservation.

Enjoy the car!

Thanks guys for the kind words. I only wish I could figure out how to post higher quality pics because the pics really don't do it justice. The color is dark bowling green metallic from 2001 corvette. Depending on the the angle the light hits it, it looks almost black. I can't wait to see it outside.

Ron - a classic ERA- that is something to strive for. I guess I have 25 more years to go and I am looking forward to every mile along the way

TP- I looked for your car while I was there, but didn't see it. I did not get to check the other buildings though- it may have been in one of those or on the way to the painter?

The only 289 I saw was anti-venom's- which is coming along nicely by the way.

As for the motor, I am going with a 428 single quad with a turkey pan. Motor is sitting in my garage waiting for its new home to come home

JW, I couldn't bring myself to have them install the motor- I have to do something . I wound up having ERA do more than I originally planned simply because I want to actually drive it this summer and I don't have a lot of time to work on it these days.

And don't worry, there will be many more pics coming soon

When you get to the point where you are installing the engine give me an email or call 203-209-9485 if you need an extra pair of hands.

JW-
Be careful, I just may take you up on that offer

TP- I spoke to Peter and they are doing some special body mods to your car. Apparently in order to fit the the Honda fart can exhaust, rear wing and ground effects, they need to beef up the fiberglass in some areas. Peter said it should be back out of the fiberglass shop in a couple days. It is said to look really "trick" though.
