Which motor
I want to purchase a Superformance cobra.
I want to know what would be the best motor
for the car. Some people i have talked to prefer
the big block others the stroker motor.
Which motor would have better performance.
Also which motor would be more durable
down the road.

You are opening a "whole can of worms" for discussion and disagreement.
In my opinion the two motors make two different cars. Go drive or take a ride in both and see which you like better. Its all a matter of personal taste. I was going bb until I drove a stroker and found it made the car even more of what I was looking for.

Do a search
This topic has been gone over so much it is a sore point! Drive both is an excellent idea. Aside from that try the search button.
What one person likes the other will not!

Big block is the only way to go!!!!!
Small block stroker is the only way to go!!!!
That should sum up the next 50 posts for you.
You would love them both

engine choices are compromises. I think the ideal engine for for these cars is the stroked Windsor. I have one, more power than i can use, ( i can only use my power momentarily in street driving), nimble handling, and up to 23 mpg on the highway. Plenty loud, easy to tinker with, relatively inexpensive.
Let me put it this way: Bob Olthoff, who has more race miles in authentic Cobras than probably just about any living person, asked me:
"We won the World Championship with 375 hp, why do you think you need more than that? " So i settled for a 460 hp Windsor, and am very happy with it.
It is the sum of the overall engine characteristics that are important, not just this or that aspect.
Me, I'm a Windsor man, wouldn't change a thing. I always did like small, nimble cars.

Taters
I drove both a BB (460) and 392 stroker SPF's-- I went with a mild stroker for mine, there's all the hp and speed enough for me in that combo--
I like the look of a BB in the engine compartment, and the sound, idle etc--but for me and my basic cruising type of driving the SB is just fine
Driving both type of engines is the way to do it
No matter what it will be your choice and your car and whether you go big block or small block it will be a blast
There are 2 camps in here BB and SB--and they rarely agree on anything

Taters,
I have a Ford Racing RDI alum 427 in my SPF and love it. It is the best of everything as far a performance goes. Not Cheap Though!!! The BIG Question is what are you going to use the car for? When I ordered mine, serious track time was not an issue. Now it is, and I am really glad that I have what I have. Plenty of torque and less weight than the old CI FE blocks. If you're going to just show it and want originality, go the FE route. Where are you located?
