Default Wheels for EM w/Corvette rear?

I have an Everett Morrison with a Corvette rear. What kind of wheels (and size) could I use to mount up a pair of slicks for the rear - to go drag racing. I have 16" Compomotive wheels on the car for the street.

Better make sure that Corvette rear end is a Dana 44 and not a Dana 36,,, cause if it's a 36, after you try the slicks you'll be looking for a 44 to replace that broken 36!!!

Not necessarily true on the Dana 36, I've had my car 4 yrs, have run to many 10 second quarters to count, pulled 560.7 lbs of torque on the dyno friday at DVSF, and have never had a problem with the Dana 36

Hey Hotfingrs,

I was trying to catch you sometime when you were around your car at DVSF to discuss just such matters. I never seemed to catch up with you to talk. Love the valve covers!!! You are pulling some serious horsepower out of that SB. What kind of goodies do you have in it? Hope the damage from the incident on Sunday isn't to bad.

Back on topic though, you must admit that your automatic is a little easier on the differential than a stick would be, in the same car.

You're right about and auto being easier, that's why the Dana 36 is standard on the automatic cars and the Dana 44 standard on the six speed cars, even though both engines are rated the same.... email me at jackvette@adelphia.net and I'll tell you about the engine

Welllllll.....now you've got a lot of choices to make.....I've used 15 and 16 and 17 inch rims. 3 1/2" is about all the front spacing you can handle. I think my 17 were 9.5x17 with 6.5 back spacing, also believe my 15's are about the same. The 17's were 9.5 all the way around and the 15's and 16's were 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears. You can probably get 11's on the rear, with a little more front spacing...the one set of 11's I tried had a little to much back spacing and rubbed....bolt pattern is 5 x 4.75
