Default Engine not centered in engine compartment???

I am looking at a purchasing a John Speed cobra.

The engine appears to be off center. It sits about 1-2 inches closer to the drivers side. Is this normal?

Thanks,
Brian

Drivers side?Thought it was passengers side.

Cowtown-did you hear that PETA is protesting "Whiskey for my men-beer for my horses"?
Seems that those"got-no-life a-holes"think it will make people give their horses beer.

I think on the CSX cars and Kirkham cars, the engine is set off to the passenger's side.

It is definately set to the drivers side. I dont know maybe this was originally a right hand drive car that's been converted.

Talking Horses

No PETA is complaining because they think you are going to make the horses use glasses.

whoops! I usually read more carefully than that...

Ours is offset toward the passenger's (right) side, not the driver's. It's offset for several reasons:

-More room for the driver.
-More even weight distribution with only the driver present (like on a race track).
-Centers the transmission output with the differential input.

Who would give beer to a horse anyway, everyone knows they much prefer a shot of Raki...
