Unhappy For those that did not hear about Jenny...

The week prior to the DVSF III, Little Jenny was admitted to Boston's Children's Hospital. She was having a hard time breathing. After a few days stay she was released and was able to go home. After being home for two days one of her lungs partially collapsed. Back to the hospital.

By the time Fling III started Jenny was, once more on her way to a somewhat normal recover for a CF patient, but not enough to be with us this year.

Jenny's father, Dave wrote me a letter the first day of the event and faxed it directly from the hospital to my shop. One of my guys then brought it out to me immediately.

I know it's late morning now, but for me it's still to darned early after the last three weeks of "a wee bit of the sleep", so allow me to paraphrase David and Jenny's letter.

David expressed his greatest appreciation for what all of you have done and what you are doing to help Jenny and the thousands of unfortunate people like her. They like so many of us, had planned for months to come to the Fling, but it simply didn't work out.

A small quote, and I know I am not quoting exactly, from Jenny, but apparently "she" told the Doctors to hurry up and get her better because she was in charge of a really large car show and she had to be there to start them off!

David, I know Jenny is just 5 years old now, but that little Angel of yours, of all people should know that these aren't "cars"! They are "Cobra Chariots". Simply dedicated to help her get well soon.

Jenny, you do not know us individually, but we, "your Cobra family" individually know you. "We", are pulling and working and praying for you and the others like you everyday. It shall be done.

Get well Jenny. We will see you next time.

DV and family

DV:
Thank you for all the care that you done for this little girl and those others who are afflicted with the same malady.
It is people like you who some how transend the everyday struggles and manage to get some of us to focus on an important issue. Jenny and the Smith family are fortunate to have you as a friend. As a father or mother would know - you stand out .
God bless.

I would like to keep this, "Jenny's Thread". I will wait a few days and print out any and all responses, then simply send them to her with the four completely filled poster board "Get Well" cards. She is "our" own little angel, and "we" are privileged to have her.

Thank you David and Denise (Smith) for sharing her with us.

DV... I will post asap on all the counts!

Jenny,

We were really sorry you couldn't be there to start the car show this year like you usually do, but since all of us think of the Spring Fling as your party anyway, you were sure there with us in spirit the whole time! You're always in our prayers.

Default Wow

Talk about something which will bring tears to your eyes. God bless you Jenny.

I have a little boy named Zachary who is 4 years old. He told me to tell you that he will be praying for you every night. And I'm here to tell you, that little boy, every night during his prayers, asks, "for God to make Jenny happy." God has a special place in his heart for little children, we all love you Jenny.

Dearest Jenny:

I know you don't remember me from last year's Fling, but we met when you and your Dad climbed out of the Coupe in front of the Courthouse in downtown London. You were so pretty, and I fell in love immediately!

I wanted you to know how much we missed you at this year's event. We were all so very sorry to hear you had to go see the doctors, again, and we all wish you could have been there to lead us into downtown London. In fact, we sort of got messed up while parking this year, and I know it's because you weren't there to help us!

Please get better soon...we all love you and missed you this year and look forward to seeing you at next year's event. There's been some talk about 'IF' there's going to be a 'next years event'....but, how could there NOT be if you're coming? My boys, Will and Drew, will be there to see you, so you've GOT to come.

Please know that you, your family, and your doctors are in our prayers and thoughts.

We love you...

"Flyin-Freddie" Rice, Karen, Will and Drew
...and 'Scooter' and 'Trixie', too!
