So no more than a 1,000 tickets were sold at $50 each?
Comes out to $50,000 max raised with the Kirkham.
I think an auction, ending at 3 on Sunday, perhaps shown on a screen or large TV, would have brought in far more than $50K. You wouldn't be looking for $4,600, you'd be closer to $125K gross proceeds from the weekend. Experience is expensive.
Other ideas/comments on the fling: if I didn't know about it and where I was going, I wouldn't have found it. I don't know what the tourist traffic is like on I-70 on nice summer weekends, but a sign or billboard trumpeting the festival might have brought a few more people down to London. Even once I got there, I honestly never knew it was a Strawberry festival at all. First I heard about Strawberries is in one of your other posts. Advertising needs to be ramped up I think.
Once there, the, I guess Strawberry festival, was mostly food booths, midway booths and some common crafts. Maybe an upgrade and additions to the vendor list?
Just some thoughts. Not to take away from a worthy cause and effort.
Good Luck
