Thumbs up

Ben,
These guys were at the Fling with three Cobras in their booth. I looked at them and really was impressed with the quality componants. They are in the Same braket as a Backdraft price wise.

Hersh

PS.... The ones at the show didn't appear that high. I'm sure there is no engine or drive line in there. Have you ever seen a Shelby or a Kirkham without an engine. It looks pretty high too.
Everything settles down when that wieght goes in.

Ben,
The owners names are John & Randy Crawford. Their showroom & warehouse are located in Chattanooga Tennessee. They are importing these Shamrock Cobras from South Africa. They are the only US distributors for this car. That's why most people haven't heard of them. Shamrock has been building these replica cars in South Africa since 1984. The cars are much like the Superformance cars, since they are factory built. Except these cars use the 4 wheel independent Jaguar suspension. Most of the pictures on their web sight show the cars with no motors or transmissions. That's why they look like they are sitting up in the air. The suspension is fully adjustable though. I own an older Shamrock built in 1992. I have a new one ordered & it will be here on their next shipment due in September. The guys are great to deal with, & will help you in any way possible. Hope this helps...

Greg

Question

Hmmmm.......interesting. Their "new" and yet, there not. Mid 30's I would guess if their like B&B. Whats up with the 92" wheel base I wonder? I like the base motor being a 351. Body shape looks ok. Compomotive wheels would help, but might be expensive for a Jaguar bolt pattern. 10" wheels in back is good, would like to see 9" (rather than the 8) in the front.

Soft top is a good touch. Yeah, not a bad car all things considered.

Ernie,
I Couldn't tell that car was 2" longer and I kept looking for tale tell signs too. I even sat in it and it was OK. It had plenty of leg room. The interior was a little on the gussied up side for me but hey!, some folks like that. I go for the more spartan look or racier look.

Default Shamrock Autocraft USA, Inc.

Hi Ben,

I was notified by a friend of your request so thought I'd respond personally. We are John & Randy Crawford and we're located in Chattanooga, TN. We have within the last year secured a contract with the original manufacturing plant in South Africa called Shamrock Autocraft, cc who was actually the first company to build a Kit replicar and have been building nothing but Cobra replicas since 1984. Before this time they were a Boat Manufacturer so they have alot of experience with Glass bodies. They worked with the local university engineering department and stressed their frame repeatedly without any failure or flexing that it may experience in extreme conditions. The current owners of Shamrock Autocraft in Capetown, South Africa have not changed since 1994. Many of the shop personel have been with the company since its origination in 1984. Our cars have independent Jaguar suspension zero timed and come as turnkey minus. Our current pricing on these units are very competitive and even though they should be priced in the mid 30's they are actually priced in the upper 20's as a introductory pricing schedule.
We have a passion for these cars and after 10 years of searching for a comfortable but very controllable replicar that was fun to drive have settled on the Shamrock and have been well pleased. We think it is the best quality and value of all the factory built cobras because it is truly a factory built replicar and all machining and manufacture process is done in house. We'll be happy to answer any question you have. Thanks, John
