Default My progress lately

Here are some photos of the car now. Got the headers done and ceramic coated (perfection did a great job), painted front chassis, painted engine, installed some other stuff. Maybe half done now.

Looks like some fine workmanship there Colin. That thing is going to be a beast when it's on the track. I'm just starting the construction of my headers and side pipes. I hope they turn out as nice as those.

Cheers

Colin - Are you doing a tilt front end? If so, could you post some pictures of the mechanism? Or do you have a removable front end? I am not familiar with a Guyon kit.

Very cool Colin!
Bruce at Perfection does great work eh. I had at bunch of stuff coated and I was very pleased.
I would love to see your car run, when will it be ready? Maybe we could get the local cobra owners out and watch you at bud park?

Good luck Mike, it's just like they told me. Take your time and use your head and it'll be just fine. Lets just hope our pipes don't cost 150 hp like PSERRA"S on the other thread!

Bumpster, my front is removable. I just disconnect the electric clip for the lights, undo eight Dzuz fasteners, and lift it off. It wieghs about 15-20 lbs.

Thanks Rodney, this was my first time using Bruce. I really like his work, my only complaint would be he didn't cap off one of the sidepipes before the polishing process. Now the inside of the pipe is full of those little pellets and I can't get them all out! Anyone have any ideas? It would be great to get together with some local Cobra owners. I looked at your gallery, the car looks beautiful.

Has anyone heard form Rockey Keyes (Rocketman) lately? How is his year going? Has he lowered his best ET?

Great work Colin! How did you go in your search for the replacement strut? Did you find one, or did you have to buy a new pair? I haven't seen Rockey post here for ages.

Craig

Thanks Craig, I lucked out with the struts. Some one in Oregon saw my "wanted" ad and sold me his pair that were the same as mine. Amazing since they haven't been manufactured for ten years now and his were brand new, still in the box! I just transferred my springs over and bolted them in. I hope chassis setup and shakedown runs go that well.

Colin: Very nice job! However, looking at the front of your engine, I think your distributor hole is missing...

Hey Boudy, I had a distributor in the front but it kept hitting the hood scoop! I took it out, welded over the hole, and drilled one at the back where CS told me he wanted it in the first place. Just kidding, of course.

You know, they say ole' CS made an effort to sell the whole project to the bowtie boys before Ford bought in.

History is written now...
