You have to use quality drivers to overcome the sound of the side pipes.
Sign of the times... when I saw B'Boys I immediately thought Beastie Boys, but then "Wait... that can't be right...".

Spoony....weldone mate 10/10.

I'm a little concerned with long drives, 1000 watts of amps, struth with all that power i guess you have a small generator in the boot just to supply the juice to the speakers ?

What did you do to get the extra juice ?

Enjoy.

Skippy.

Wow,

I have both a cup holder and a 10 CD changer with remote!

While we are on the subject of NOT TO DOs, can I get a ruling on a cigarette lighter? It is really getting to be a pain rolling up the windows to get a light.

Thanks,

Bud

Of course you can put a nice stereo in YOUR Cobra! In fact, there arent a lot of things better than just cruisin' around town, or along the seashore, or carving thru the mountains, or blasting down the freeways with some great music to accompany you along the ride! "Born to be Wild," and all that!! lol !!!

Yes you are right but those Krako, Sparkomatic or Audiovox units only put out enough power to listen when the car was not running. Those stereo's were best used when you were using the back seat not driving the car if you know what I mean.

So unless you have a big back seat in your cobra and your stereo has less power than the average sparkomatic you have too much stereo for civilized use. On the other hand if you are running undercar exhaust with quite mufflers you can listen to you AM radio or 8 track

If you want a radio in your Cobra fine but don't expect to get much use out of it when the motor is thumping.

Stereo? I don't need no stinking stereo. Now a cupholder - that's what I miss. Who's figured out a clever way to install a cupholder. Seriously though, the install looks awesome. I'm jealous.

I use a smallish, two-drink holder that fastens down to the back of the trans tunnel between the seats. It has adjustable "holders", with a small section for sunglasses, Altoids, snub nose, etc!

cj428cj,

Here is a pic of mine. An adjustable plastic holder from Pep Boys. I then applied a strip of velcro 2" wide & 3" long that I got at Walmart in the sewing section. It sticks to the carpet where you put it and can still be moved around or be removed easily.

Bud, I like the velcro idea. That way I can just stick it down when I need it. Thanks.

I hate to give my opnion,,since I am subject to change in the future,,but one of the things I LIKE about driving my cobra,,is that the only music I hear is the 427's bellow thru the barely baffled sidepipes,it's like oldies from 1966...if i want music i will drive a "regular"car,,but thats the thing about choices,,we all have em,,ever think about mounting it backward in the bulkhead, letting it protrude into the trunk,,with a little carpeted velcro hinge cover ? just an idea,, Tk

Stereo??? For what??? I already gots two bit woofers: one under each door!

CJ428CJ: At Wallymart or Kmart, I found a fanny pack with a drink holder on each side and a velcro belt. I got one of those cup holders with a hook to go on the car window and put into one side of the fanny pack, then belted it to the two braces from the tunnel to the dashboard. Now I can carry a bunch of junk AND a drinkie-poo. Handiest storage space in the car!

well, may be expensive, but running a cobra isn't the cheapest thing anyway -

I didnt have a stereo in my last one, will have in my new, just because its already in there. I kind a like the idea of cruising down big sur, sun is setting over the pacific, the stomping bass of a V8 mixing with songs like LA woman by the doors, rust never sleeps by neil young, albatros by fleetwood mac, or other song from the woodstock era - live could just be great!

Yes you can put one in. The question is two fold: 1) why? and 2) would you actually be able to hear it without deafening the entire neighborhood?
