I would have to say that if you have a chance to pick up a 351C, go for it.
I have one in a 72 Mustang which I bought new. I drove the car on the street and also raced it for 5 years.
With nothing done to the engine internally and just the addition of headers, slicks, 4:57 gears, shift kit and a B&M Superholeshot torque converter, this car was never beaten in a heads up race by any corvette or any 350 Chevy that was similarly equipped.
It was dependable and won a track championship for me in 78'.
It's is a great engine. I kind of wished I had put one in my Cobra.
