New Cobra Fan
Hi Everyone!
I have recently decided that I want to build a Cobra replica. I do not have the money quite yet but I want to start researching the best kit for me to build. I have found a few but I wanted to get some input from people that have actually built them.
Here is the kit that currently has my eye.

Thank you for any advice that is given.

Brian,
Looks like this outfit is offering a kit made by Classic Roadsters. A good choice, but right now, Classic Roadsters is have some operational problems and/or going through an ownership change. If I were you, I'd hold off doing any business with this outfit until you hear how Classic Roadsters is coming along.
Go over to the manufactures forum - Classic Roadsters and post a note to either Don Scott or Ed Combs (DV) (both are excellant CR builders) and find out how things are going as far as delivering complete kits.

Kits
There ar emany different kits out there. Some you have to use a donor car and others you don't. Regardless of what kit you decide on, let me give you a rule of thumb as far as cost. Whatever you pay for the kit, expect to double that figure wwhen you add in all the items that don't come with the kit.
I am in the process of building an A&C Kit and so far no real problems. Visit their site and check out their produc
http://acautos.com/
Good luck with whatever kit you decide on, and don't be afraid to ask questions. In here, everyone is very helpful, it's like a brotherhood of Cobra builders/owners.

Hey Tony,
we seem to be at the same stage of build on our A&C's. Excellent kit and lot's of fun to build. Keep posting pistures in your gallery and I will do the same. If anyone has any A&C build questions, I am available as well.

Thank you all for your advice. Being an expericed jeep mechanic I have found that nothing is as easy as it sounds to be. I am looking for a kit that is put together well so that I can minimize any problems. Its going to be at least another year before I can start on a kit, I have to finish paying for my wifes schooling first. I was also looking at the Factory Five kit, but it looks like I have to purchase more stuff that does not come with the kit.

I checked out acautos and I like what I see so far. I was not able to find the price of the base kit though. I found all of the options but not the actual kit price. Anyone have that figure for me?

A&C
Your best bet is to call A&C and speak with Sonny. I ordered mine in February of this year and with a $500.00 deposit, he locked me in on a price for two years. The kits and programs he offers vary, but expect the base to be around the $12K price.
You'll still need an engine, tranny, driveshaft, steering column & shaft, brake set-up (master cylinders, pedals, etc.), gas tank, headers & sidepipes, roll bar, and all the appointments (the trim stuff like emblems, vents, bumpers or jackposts, wipers, etc.).
Give him a call and see what he can do for you.
