Thanks to Don Barnes and the Panoz Racing School... Here are pictures of the event
Just thought I would post a few pictures of the event Don Barnes (Cobra #42) and the Panoz Racing School hosted for many members of the Texas Cobra Club. Don rented the Texas Motor Speedway track for the day and invited Porsches, Ferraris, Cobras, Vipers and even a Mini Cooper, to spend the day learning to drive at speed.
I only wish I had a car to drive... I will be at one of the future events in my next car!!
Thank you again, Don! Even as a spectator, I had a great time.
For those of you who are not familiar with his racing school, you are missing out on a top-notch organization. I plan to enroll in one of his driving schools in the near future!
John Russell crossing the starting line at speed
David Tittle (sp?) in the staging area
Jphn Russell
Alan D. in the staging area
Alan at speed in his Keith Craft Powered monster --- AND look who is in the tower giving the green flag.. It's Ute!
Kountze Cobra - Dave came up from the Beaumont/Houston area to run his great sounding Cleveland
I will try to post a few more later...

WOW...James, these are GREAT!!!
James,
Thanks so very much for coming out to watch us play! We had a blast, and it's a nice surprise to see the some of the shots you took of us. Did you get a new digital camera body? I don't remember you shooting with your Coolpix when you came down the staging line. The body looked different to me, but then I am old and it was hot!
Thanks from all of us in attendance, and I can tell you that EVERYTHING that Don puts his name on is absolutely first rate.! I will do this again, I am also going to take one of his driving schools before the end of the year, and John jr. is going to take his Audi Teen Driving School as soon as he turns 16!
Thanks to Don for one of the best track days I have ever had, and also to his instructors. Every one of them is a professional in every since of the word!!
John Russell
all I need now is 2 new rear tires

John,
Actually I knew I would have problems capturing the cars at speed with my Nikon so I used the Canon EOS. What is so remarkable is that Sam's Club developed the film (double prints) in an hour and included a CD of the images --- all for about $8.75!! By comparison, the price for the same thing at Wolf (same developing and printing machines) was about $18.
So, for any of you who want good developing at a low price, I am really impressed with Sam's Club.

Guys, All of my team really had a great day watching you guys run, I heard alot of great compliments about your Cobras. I don't think anyone had ever seen that must horsepower, beauty and thunder at TMS even at a NASCAR event. Just standing watching you guys go down the front straight with the sound of American V8's was awesome !!!! I wanted to be out there in the worst way but, well I had to work, maybe next time. I don't know what else to say except we need to do it again on a cooler day.
I am very thankful to man upstairs for looking over us and giving us a safe day. Chip, if there is anything you need, please call on me. My shop is your shop anytime, day or night.
Thanks to all that attended, spectators and drivers.

Thanks, Don
I had a great time just watching. If I needed any more motivation to get my car finished, this was it!
All the Porches, BMWs etc. could not match the cool of the Cobras.

Don,
Just wanted to say thanks for having us out for Track Day. I was very impressed with the friendly, informative, encouraging staff you have working for you. It was really great to have a place where I could get this beast out and wind it up a little (and not scare old ladies on the turnpike). I learned alot about braking and cornering and can't wait to get out there and do it again.
Thanks Don! We are lucky to have you as a fellow Cobra enthusiast.

Thank You
Don,
Thank you for all you did to make this happen. This was a first rate event from the classroom training to the track time. Please take the time to pass this on to all your team as they all did an outstanding job!
Friends, Cobras and a day at TMS - nuff said.
Thanks John

Here is the video.....
If you want to chase a Cobra around the speedway, click here.
www.CobraTerminator.com
Then click "video".
My brother was using an in-car camera, and had it digitized. You can even hear the supercharger whine in the 2003 Mustang Cobra, which is the car chasing the AC Cobras.

Hey Coleman...
Good to meet you there, and thanks for the camera work.
Sorry about your mechanical situation that kept you off the track.
I think they will do this again soon, though.......and I hope we can get a lot more folks there with enough notice.
