Engine Stand Bolts?
Any one know what size bolts I need to buy to bolt my 428 block to my engine stand (through the tranny holes)?

It would depend on the engine stand you are using.

I would assume the diameter of the bolts are independent of the stand and dictated by the diameter of the holes in the block. I'll buy different lengths.

I believe a 3/8 bolt is what you need..
I like to use grade 8 bolts for that but don't know if it's necessary.

Why don't you just measure them?

My block is being shipped currently. I would like to be ready when it arrives if possible. I may just have to wait until it gets here. I may pick up some 3/8 and try them.

I wondered if they were 7/16 but for some reason that seemed to big to me.

Joe;
PAW in LA sells engine stand bolts for the big three engines. If you don't have one of their catalogues go to their web site and order one. It's worth the money just to see what's out there. I think Summit may sell the kits also.
