I sent my deposit on 9/02/03,Bob Marsh called and confirmed my number as CSX4761,they started at CSX4750,and Carroll kept the first build,so the 75 cars is totally untrue,I am number 10 of the sold cars as of this week09/03/03,after research I think the only thing different is the plant in which SAI pays to have them built, and if the SPF is any indication or SA quality ,I think i will be pleased, any way I cant wait to see it.

The $39,950 price is just a come on. If you go look at what you actually get at that special price you find you still need to spend another $10K plus license, tax and registration to get a Fiberglass car that looks decent and has the normal accessories/trim. That puts it at the upper $50's, but still a decent price for a CSX.

Now, the real question is did Shelby & his dealers really get 75 true signed orders for cars in 2 days at this show?

Or was it really just 75 decent leads or serious inquiries at the show? Shelby hasn't sold 75 cars in any recent whole year. This sounds like a Marketing Press Release, not "insider info"

Default HereSay...

When we were in Monterey, my friend got on the list and was told it was 10 sold. Then we heard after the weekend on "ClubCobra" that it was 75. So when he went to confirm buying one on the following Wednesday, he complained that he was going to have to wait too long, (looking at other cars now) his broker/dealer came back and said that he would not have to wait long because there there were only 10-12 actually sold that weekend.

Who knows, It's all heresay... and an interesting marketing strategy to say the least. I'd sure like to see what you get for $39K in person... He was told all sorts of things (not in writing) that still don't make sense. We'll see.
