I'm really not a snob. I'm more of an a-hole.

I think we can all agree that the "snob" --- for whatever purpose the snobbery, either BB, SB, original, genuine, paid less, built it myself, paid cash, fiberglass, carbon fiber, aluminum, et cetera --- is socially inept and should be summarily ignored.

Not a Cobra owner, but I've got "Cobra Envy" REAL BAD! You guys get to play with your cars, while I get to scuff my foot on the ground and think, "Gosh, I wish I had one of those..."

Default No Engine!!!!!!!!!!????????????

PDHse:

Thanks, but you gotta' have a sense of humor when you buy a car with no engine. I cannot repeat the comments of my 81 year-old father (the idea of a new car with no engine did NOT meet with his approval). Thank God he doesn't know what it cost.

My wife (thank God she does not know exactly what it cost) makes comments about how engine size HAS to correlate to the size of a certain part of the male anatomy. She says, "Let me get this straight, there are guys with BIG blocks and guys with small blocks. What does it mean if you have NO Block?" (ha-ha, very funny) What's worse is she has told all her girl friends about the BB/SB thingy. They now laugh and point when I enter a room. She did (bless her heart) make me a donation box and set it on the hood (with a towel under it). So far it's almost been a month and I have $3.23.

Some of my male friends have started making VROOOOOM VROOOM noises when I'm around. Just wait 'til they want a ride!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said, you gotta' have a sense of humor. But, I will have the last laugh next spring when I and Dog-From-Hell (see my gallery for a picture) ride off into the sunset.

naw , course not.........!!

who would buy a car or a replica of a car that held world records for decades, brought a world championship to the USA and ford,is arguably one of the most beautiful auto designs in history, has probably killed more men per vehicle than any other car,.......paint it bright red ,................and then think it was better than another car.........or others of its kind...........naw........

I dont feel so democratic, most of us buy or build these things the way we think is BEST ................... I cant say I like every ones rendition of the Cobra............so what!......thats what makes a horse race...............thats what makes America...that dosnt make a snob.

If I think my cobra makes me a better man or affords me some personal superiority, then I'm an A$$HOLE !!

btw, Caroll, nice post.

I wanted to be as original as possible on my budget {hope the wife never find's out about my real budget} when I ordered my car. I watched Curt Scott's video and after that I decided to build the car along the lines of my dream. I've heard it all BB/SB,4speed, 5speed etc'etc and whatever.
After watching the video I decided to build the car my way if someone does'nt like it that is their problem not mine.
My car is based on a 67, did'nt see to many coilovers back then today they are the norm, what I'm trying to say is build , buy , or enjoy the cars as they are built today if you want something different do it. If someone does'nt like it who cares it's your car not theirs.
Build it you're way if someone disagrees don't invite them to dinner

Sorry to ramble but my car is my car if you don't like it to bad, you're car is your's if I don't like it I should keep my mouth shut.

Whats this about white faces gauges? I happen to like my white face gauges! Get over it...

And did I tell ya about the full width roll bar and the head rests?

I guess if I attend a SCAA meeting I might be blamed for heart siezures!

I almost went with white faced guages, the only problem was that autometer wanted $500 for the reverse speedometer w/the white face decided I'd rather have the reverse meter and the $

trctrdrvr,

Mine are VDO's and the speedo goes the right way (at least for me). As long as it doesn't stray too far from the original, I like ALL Cobras. We could sit here and argue all night about what "too far" is...oh well...

Talking Not Much of a "Purist to a Point" R U?

Cowtown:

My God you're gotta take it easy with the details of your car. You're going to cause some of these guys to have a coronary!

Wait until they find out you stuck a Mazda rotary engine under the hood.

LMAO

That what I'm talking about build it your way and if someone else does'nt like you're vision they should have the decency to keep there mouth shut. Even the "original" one's were always changing due to the availabilty of parts!

Dave,
It is too late for that.
We are waiting for the patty wagon to arrive, so we can get a full load.

Frankly I don't understand why Brent will not let me and Ron kick out anyone who doesn't have a alloy car out of this joint.

Too many blue collar people in here with blue collar type of cars.

On a serious note, we have to be tolerant of everyone else's car.
I didn't say we have to like them, but remember they think their POS is the best car out there. They love them. We have to pretend it is great also..

Little do we know, they are probably snickering behind our backs.Yours too.

And A$$holes are a dime a dozen--every swinging D!ck and D!ckl$$ has one--some just let them run their brain and mouth, or key board--but they still put on their pants one leg at a time and sit to S#!T--just like the rest of us

And somehow that makes them better---DUH?
