Question How many replicas built TOTAL?

OK, We all know that there were only just over 1,000 Cobras built in the 60`s, but are there any remotely accurate figures as to how many Replicas have been built since, let`s say, 1980, worldwide?

It would be nice to get a realistic figure, not just guesses, but I know that this is going to be really hard to gauge.

Fun though?!

Just some numbers I've read in various mags the last few years, and a little guessing.F5-3500,Spf-1700,ERA-700,Shelby(after 1980)-400,Classic-2500, Contemporary-1700,Shell Valley-2000,Midstates-1500,Kirkham-300,Saber/Hunter-175,all the other little guys- maybe-2500. Then there are the scratch built bastards, built by guys like me-(10)+ 3000.

Thanks for the big numbers, MrBruce, If we`re waiting for everyone to 'roll-call' ,this could be the longest thread in history!

OK, So we have well over 15,000 in the U.S.A, I wonder about Europe/UK?
Anyone got any figures for here?

Do you reckon that replicas/ continuation models will outnumber originals by 50-1?

Amazing!

I read somewhere that about 40,000 total Cobra originals and replicas worldwide. I do not know how accurate that number is.

Carroll is in the ballpark with the total... Seems to me I read those numbers somewhere... Probably on this forum at one time or another.... Do a search in the archives. I'm sure this was discussed on several occasions...

I think basically nobody cares and/or wants to know.

Some people care how big the number is because they want the number to stay smaller rather than grow. The logic goes something like this, "If everybody has one, a Cobra is not exclusive and not as desireable. Cobras become less exclusive as their numbers grow."

I can see it now: Cobras -- as common as the original VW Beattle or at least as common as the Corvette.

I did not get mine for exclusivity, but I know some people are sensitive on the subject.

Well I think that is ONE of the attractions to the Cobra, not that many around.

I don't really care for Camaros. Nice car and all that, BUT do you know how many of THOSE are on the road? For that simple reason, I wouldn't want one.

......not to mention Camrys, which is also an excellent car, like I CARE. I have one, along with millions of other drivers.

TOO MANY ALREADY!

There are at least 20 Replica Cobras within 10 minutes of my home now. I'd almost hate to know the answer to your question. It's probably more than we all think at this point, and it's growing.
