Pictures from Monterrey 2003
Here are some images from the Monterrey Historics 2003
Phil Remington next to the car he helped create and make workable: The Legend of Le Mans: the Mark IV
Phil and daughter, Kati, next to the Mark IV. Kati's thoughts on all this: "Hey, Dad....why didn't you ever bring one of these home from work"?
Kati next to the Shelby PR photo of the 60s that was on display in the signing tent.
Pete Brock, Phil, and designer, Stuart Reed.

More Pictures...
Left to right: The incomparable Snakeeyes (probably saying aprayer for the damaged Flip Top), Sir John Whitmore who drove the Coupe at Spa and Reims, and Monza. Yours truly, and Phil Remington. The big question in this picture is: whose English nose is longer, mine or Whitmore's?
More of the same. Whitmore was quite the story teller.
Autograph signing in the main tent. L to R: Lloyd Ruby (3rd at Le Mans '66 driving with Ken Miles in the disputed finish that year), Phil, and Sir John Whitmore
Parnelli Jones and Ed Leslie. Jones was very small in stature, probably around 5'6". There is hope for us all.

More of the same with a shot of the Flip Top
Interior of the Flip Top.
Interior shot of Jamo's Cobr......sorry, actually, a 300SL Gullwing. I think that is Ostrich "leather".
The business end of Rob Walton's Daytona Coupe.

A beautiful Ferrari TR. Prettiest car there, IMHO.
The 1046 '66 Le Mans winner owned by George Stuaffer of Blue Mound, Wisconsin.
The Ford of France Coupe that sold at BJ for $4,000,000 a couple of years ago. Repainted white. It was very fast but broke late in the race.
Nose shot of same.
SPECIAL THANKS TO RON RICHARDS FOR POSTING THESE FOR THE COMPUTER CHALLENGED, CAL METAL.

Great stuff, Cal. Many thanks.
Love that shot of Jones. I met him as a young man several times when J.C. Agajanian would bring him up to run stuff at the old Kearney Bowl and later at the Hanford Speedway in our neck of the woods. He used to make jokes about all of the big-cigared Armenians that would turn out for the races. My next project is turning a nice stock 76 Bronco into a Big Oly replica--his favorite thing for them south of the border runs in Baja.
BTW--Turk's the one going ga-ga over that big goose interiored Gullwing. Turk may do his next Cobra interior like that. I must admit--it was unique. There was a Gullwing recreation (a nice one) at the RM auction that may have been from the same outfitters as yours--I wasn't sure whether the car in the paddocks was real--guess it was.

Jamo:
According to the RM auction results there was a 300SL continuation that sold for $85,000. I think it was dark blue.

Yup...that's the one. Just checked my catalog--built in 1990 by Gullwing Motors of Gardena, CA. 100 were built, with 75 going to Germany and Japan to owners of originals. Air conditioned to boot. This one only had 8,200 miles. It was extremely nice--wife asked why I hadn't bought something like that instead of the Cobra.
Any relation to the one you purchased recently?
