Default wiring questions

My EZ wire kit(poor name choice) has a coil positive wire to the front part of the harness however my MSD manual says no other wires except the two from the msd box(+ and -) should hook to the blaster SS coil.Any ideas where this harness wire should go? Also I have a ford baby G alternator with a green, white and black wires out the back;how do these hook up?There is an alternator power wire on the harness. thanks;chuck

Thumbs up

Hi,
You don't use the positive coil wire, tape it up so it doesn't short out. The MSD has it's own 2 wires to the coil, don't hook anything else to the coil. Use only an MSD blaster II coil. The MSD has 2 wires for the distributor, use them if your distributor is electronic.
Your tach hooks up to the MSD box.
Good Luck,
Perry.

Thanks for the reply Perry. Do Stewart-Warner tachometers need an adaptor for the MSD hookup? Any thoughts on the alternator wiring. chuck

Hi,
You can try the green wire from the tach, hook it to the MSD port. Don't know if SW needs an adaptor. You'll need power and ground wires to the tach, plus dash light.
The alt wiring depends if you have a modern integrated alt with voltage reg inside the alt. It's more complicated if you have a separate voltage regulator. After you figure out which type you have ,look in a Haynes Manual for a wiring diagram.
Perry.
