New guy here, drove my first Cobra....In the market for one now.
The Cobra has always been my dream car, over the last weekend I had the opportunuty to drive an FFR cobra with a warmed over 302 (306?) I think, the motor was putting out close to 400 hp, it was a 5 speed car with 3:73's and racing slicks. Wow was I impressed, the acceleration was unreal and with the slicks the car just hooked up and pulled like a freight train. I was amazed, the car actually felt scary fast!! We set every car alarm off that we drove by it was hilarious. Now I am hooked. I am in the market for a Cobra now and will be in here as frequently as possible. I have about a 60 day timeframe before the $$$ will be available to me to actually buy one. I would like to find one in the low to mid $20's but could stretch a little for the right car. Any advise or comments would be welcome.

You can get into one for that amount if you want to build it yourself. Start checking the various builders. Go to this site:
http://www.bandbroadster.com
http://www.factoryfive.com
http://www.shellvalley.com
I was at the B&B shop last weekend and there turn around is about 45-60 days.
Good luck,
Clois

Welcome, automahn. Sorry to hear you were bitten by the snake. It is an all encompassing sickness but it is great fun. The web sites listed already are great sources. You should come to Saturday breakfast with the Bay Area Cobra Club. We meet for breakfast every Saturday morning at Athens Burgers in Dublin. It is a bit of a drive from Fresno but there are lots of different makes that always show up and the guys are always more than willing to share knowledge. Here is the kicker, breakfast starts at 0700-ish .

It will probubly be cheaper to buy a completed car today, than to build one. If you like FFR's, they are on the more reasonable end of the cobra pricing, so they are a good car to look into. Shop around for a while, if possible, learn as much as you can about these cars before you by one, it's always cheaper that way. Good luck!

Hi all,
Must say I agree with 'Mr. Fixit' the option of buying a cheap completed car has my vote. I have enjoyed building my second Cobra including chassis it has been expensive buying new bits.
However, buying a kit meets your current budget and then you are away.
Just remember it may be a two year project.
Good luck whatever direction you head.
Cheers
Bernie
