Club Cobra Members,
The members of the Texas Cobra club lost long time member Dick Fletcher this morning. I just felt this needed to be posted on the main Cobra Talk site as I know many of you have met Dick and/or chatted with him in the past. Dick was very instrumental in helping the club get started, a fews years back and really took charge of our site. A prayer for him and his family would be appreciated this evening!
Dick will be buried on Friday and his wishes were for the club members to bring their Cobras led by his older son driving his silver beauty.
God Bless You Dick!

Gary... I am sorry I never had the chance to meet Dick, but we all knew him well from his activity here on the forum.
I was very saddened to follow the events on the TCC forum.
Please pass our condolences to the family at the services...letting them know, for sure, that the mourning covers a far-wider geography than they could imagine.
I will remember Dick in his joy when he took delivery...a great picture, then and now.

Gary, I also want to express my continued condolences. I have posted my best wishes before on TCC. I followed the post last night, and saw that only TX, and OK folks were posting. Out of respect for the deeper grief you were all going through, I decided to use it as a moment of silence. I thank you for creating this post, as it allows me to express my feelings. Dick touched one of our Atlanta Club Cobra members and just like he did with eveyone else he touched in TX/OK, he earned "our local boy's" not-easily earned respect, and helped him out during his build. A friend of a friend is a friend of mine until proven otherwise. Dick was clearly a great Cobra guy, and a friend of a friend, so I clearly feel the loss and have followed the bad days and good days he has had. Wish I had a running car to join the procession.
Looks like he will be remembered as a great man during life and beyond, and that to me is what it is all about. Well done Mr. Flesher!!

Sorry to hear dick couldnt make the comeback every one hoped for him, I am glad he was at least granted that short reprieve to go home and see his people before he had to go .

Fellow Car Nuts:
I am so sorry for our loss. My sincere condolences to Dick's family.
As I looked at TC's link he posted, I saw friends. I saw true happiness in the eyes of those friends who were gathered around a Cobra (of all things). No, the photo didn't remind me of a car--it reminded me of what is really important in life--friends, family, sharing, helping others--and most importantly, friends accepting a man and his ride with sincere joy in their hearts for a friend who was able to make his dream come true. It appeared to me they were even sharing in the dream.
I have gotten to personally know many on this site. I feel like this place is family. I feel like my words are inadequate to express my feelings...so I better stop.
So sorry for the loss,
David

Toy Collector,
Thanks for putting up that link.. It puts a human face to this tragedy for those of us who didn't know him..
Looks like Dick had many friends both then and now... Our condolences to Dick's family.

He will be missed....
I had thought for years I would never meet one that shared my passion for the COBRA, Dick was one of few that did. God bless his family and their loss.

..........wow, the picture of Dick with his hands raised in the Cobra is truly worth a thousand words. Indeed, this was man who was loved by many. I feel your pain, it is indeed a sad passing.
God bless his family and TCC.

In case you want to remember him.
Members,
I am going to add this information here that I had just listed in another thread on the Texas Cobra Club.
" In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in memory of Dick Flesher to West Dallas Community School, P.O. Box 225643, Dallas, Texas 75222".
Thank You,
John Russell

Dick embodied all of the good things about a club like this and we are the poorer for his passing. Think of him next time you fire up your snake!

People like Dick and threads like this make you realize how precious life and good friends are.
I never had the honor of meeting Dick but I know we would
have hit it off.
Our Cobra community grieves with the Flesher family.
